On Sunday 12/15 the Green Bay Packers will take on the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field in Seattle, Washington.  The forecast for Sunday is for a temp of 44.7 °F with 5.4 mph wind and 40 % chance of rain.  This game features a match-up of the NFC North vs NFC West.  The NFC North is the #1 ranked conference in the NFL with a 69.2% winning percentage while the NFC West is the #3 ranked conference with a winning percentage of 51.9%.  Let us get to my Prediction.

The 9-4 Packers are ranked #3 in the NFC North and the 8-5 Seahawks are ranked #1 in the NFC West.  Last week the Packers lost against the Lions 31 to 34 which allowed the Lions to gain a total of 391 yards of offense.  Last week the Seahawks came out with a victory against the Cardinals 30 to 18 while allowing the Cardinals to gain 356 yards of total offense.  The Packers come into this game having played the #3 toughest strength of schedule in the NFL compared to the Seahawks who have had the #7 toughest SOS in 2024.

The Packers will go with Jordan Love who has a record of 7-4 as starting quarterback this season.  Jordan Love is ranked #19 for QBs this week and he has completed 206 passes on 328 attempts and has averaged 247.6 yards per game with a completion percentage of 62.8% with 21 TD’s and 11 INT’s. His QBR is 8.5% above the league average and he has 2 fourth-quarter comebacks and 2 game-winning drives this season.  The Packers’ running back Josh Jacobs is averaging 81 yards per game and 4.4 yards per rush attempt while scoring 11 TDs and having 2 fumbles.  Wide receiver #1 for the Packers is Romeo Doubs who is ranked #99 for WR\TE’s this week.  He averages 3.4 receptions per game with a 14.2 yards per catch average to go along with 2 TDs.  To beat the Seahawks, the Packers need to keep being efficient on the offensive side of the ball.  The Packers offense has scored 349 points this season which is 17.6% more than the NFL average and has 15 turnovers which is an average of 1.2 turnovers per game.  Efficiency will be the name of the game since they have to go up against Geno Smith.

The Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III is the #10 ranked RB this week and he is averaging 54.2 yards per game and 3.7 yards per rush attempt to go along with 7 TD’s and 1 fumble. He has an advanced rushing success rate of 44.1% which is 12.2% less than the league average for this statistic. For the Seahawks at wide receiver 1 is DK Metcalf who is ranked #34 for all WR\TE’s this week in the NFL.  He averages 4.9 catches per game and 15 yards per reception to go with 3 TD’s and 2 fumbles on the season. The advanced receiving stats show he has a catch success rate of 60% which is 3.7% below league average combined with a receiving success rate of 46.7% which is 8.9% less than the wide receiver league averages.  The Seahawks need to keep Jordan Love off his game if they can bring the heat they can win this game.  The Seahawk’s advanced team metrics have the defense blitzing at 23.1%, QB hurry rate of 7.7%, QB knockdown rate of 11.2% and QB pressure rate of 24.1%.

Skill position players to watch on the Injury Report for the Seahawks this Sunday.  Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker III is listed as doubtful for this week as of 2 days ago.  The latest update is that Coach Mike Macdonald said Friday that Walker hasn’t practiced yet (this week), so we listed him as doubtful for Sunday night’s game against the Packers, John Boyle of the Seahawks’ official site reports.  The Seahawks have 11 players on this week’s injury report which is 23.7% less than the NFL average of 14.41 injured players which is 30.5% more than the Packers.
