The Cyclones come in winners of 3 straight, beating some pretty good teams (KSU, UTAH, CIN) while the Sun Devils have won 5 consecutive (OK ST, UCF, KSU, BYU, AZ) and both made this game from tiebreakers with BYU and Colorado also finishing with a 7-2 record in conference. Both teams lost to Texas Tech this season with Iowa State also losing to Kansas and ASU falling to Cincinnati. Both schools were unbeaten (3-0) in non-conference play.

The Cyclones (+105 Moneyline) are led by prolific QB Rocco Becht (3,021 passing yards), RB Carson Hansen (618 rushing yards), and WR Jayden Higgins (1,068 receiving yards) on offense and DBs Beau Freyler (74 tackles) and Jontez Williams (4 Interceptions) on defense. To make it to the 12-team College Football Playoffs, the champion in the Big 12 would have to outrank one of 5 other conference champions. The latest rankings will be revealed on the CFP Rankings show on Tuesday night (ESPN, 7 EST/4 PST). If the Cyclones do win here, expect them to make the inaugural tournament which kicks off on December 20.

The Sun Devils are led by QB Sam Leavitt (2,444 passing yards), RB Cam Skattebo (1,398 rushing yards) and WR Jordyn Tyson (1,011 receiving yards), by the news just came out this afternoon (Monday) that Tyson will miss the game with an injury, so this line may go down a point or so. Having one less dangerous skill position player to worry about will benefit Iowa State and WR Xavier Gullory (5 TD) and TE Chamon Metayer (3 TD) will have to pick up the slack for the Sun Devils.
