Bears vs Lions Thanksgiving Thursday Football
I can smell the tur-duck-en already!!! Let’s get this Thanksgiving Trifecta started with a Bears vs Lions Prediction. The Bears are coming into this game with a 4-7 record and a 5-game losing skid. Their last game vs the Minnesota Vikings was an overtime heartbreaker 27-30. They are on the verge of being winless in the division if they can’t pull out a victory at Ford Field Thursday. Detroit on the other hand, has only allowed 12 points in their last 2 games and are riding high on their 9-game winning streak. They easily took out the Colts 24-6 last week and only have that week 2 blemish to the Bucs on their record. Will the Bears be the one to claw their way to a victory against the number one scoring offense? They better hope the ghost of Dick Butkus makes his way to the field.
Can the Bears Win Today?
The Bears will have to be flawless to get this holiday game. The defense will have to show up in a big way. The Buccaneers were able to stop the Lions by forcing Goff into throwing 2 INT’s and by holding Montgomery and Gibbs to only 119 yards rushing. There is no room for error. Quarterback Caleb Williams has been solid on the season averaging 214.2 passing yards per game while completing 62.6% of his passes. He’s added 11 touchdowns to the stat lines with only 5 interceptions on the season. Running back D’Andre Swift has been a highlight scoring 5 TD’s this season, and top receiver DJ Moore averages 4.9 yards per reception with 4 TD’s for the Bears. If the Bears could pull this off it would be the largest upset on Thanksgiving Day history.

• Caleb Williams has not thrown an interception in 7 of the Bears last 8 games
• D’Andre Swift has recorded 51+ rushing yards in 7 of the Bears last 8 games
• DJ Moore has recorded 68+ receiving yards in his last 5 games vs the Lions
• DJ Moore has scored at least one touchdown in 4 of 5 games vs the Lions
Can the Lions Win Today?
The Lions historically do not play well on Thanksgiving Day. Jared Goff and Coach Dan Campbell are 0-3 straight up while the turkey is cooking. But today all they must do is play their game. The Lions are averaging 32.7 points and 409.9 per game while also picking off 14 interceptions against their opponents. Goff has had some trouble with his 9 interceptions this season, but it hasn’t hindered this team really at all. Goff still completes 72.9% of his passes and has a whopping 20 touchdowns. 9 of those TD’s have gone to Amon-Ra St. Brown through the air and 10 touchdowns has gone to Jahmyr Gibbs on the ground. The crazy part is that Gibbs counterpart, David Montgomery has 11 TD’s with less yards and carries. The Lions are just dangerous.

• The Lions have covered the Spread in 8 of their last 9 games
• Jameson Williams has recorded 79+ receiving yards in each of his last 4 home appearances
• Jared Goff has recorded 277+ passing Yards in 8 of the Lions last 10 home games
Bears vs. Lions (-9.5) – O/U 48 – Free Prediction for 11/28/24
Last season Detroit beat the Bears 31-26 at Ford Field. My efficiency modeling has this game once again with a high total. The Bears may not score much, but I don’t really think it will matter. The Lions want to make a statement in this game, especially because of the holiday. Campbell is relentless and won’t take his foot off the pedal.
