Iowa Hawkeyes vs Penn State Nittany Lions 9-23-23

NCAAF Best Over and Under Teams

NCAA Football Week 13 Review

Iowa Now on Top as Best FBS Over Team, Ball State #2

Iowa became the best Over team in FBS after Week 13 play ended, with the Hawkeyes barely earning that honor in a 29-13 win at Maryland in a game that went Over by just 1 point (41) with 17 4th Quarter points and Iowa kicking a Field Goal with 2:10 left to be the difference-maker in the Totals market. Ball State slipped into the spot as the second-best Over team, registering an Under in a 38-13 loss to Bowling Green in a game that went under by 3.5 points (54.5). After these two, there was a mad jumble of 11 schools with 8-3-0 or 8-3-1 records to the Over including two teams that suffered very tough losses on Saturday in Indiana (at Ohio State) and BYU (at Arizona State).

In the FBS Totals market, Overs are 378-371 in non-OT games (49.5%) with the Over now at 22-8 when FBS games have gone to OT (73.3%) with 1 OT games in Week 12 going Over. Overall, Overs are now 400-379 (51.3%). If you blindly bet the Over in all 779 games, you would still be down money because of the juice.

Houston Sees Fourth Straight Under in 20-10 Baylor Loss

Houston played yet another Under in Week 13, going 21 points under the closing Total (51) in a 20-10 loss to Baylor, the Cougars fourth straight Under. Houston closes out with BYU in Week 14 (Nov. 30) and we suggest taking the Under (42.5) in that finale as BYU will be sad and Houston has been sad and lethargic all season. Mississippi had its 8th Under in 9 games in a traumatic loss to Florida in the Swamp, 24-17 in an SEC battle that saw the final score 17 points less than the closing Total (58). Appalachian State (6-2-2) has the third-best and there was a mating ball of 10 teams with 8-3-0 Under records with Colorado State and Clemson both having 7-3-0 Under records.

NCAAF Week 14 Totals Pick and Prediction

Our free NCAAF Totals pick will be lean to another Houston Under when they face an Over team, BYU, in Week 14 in the Regular Season finale at Lavell Edwards Stadium in Provo, Utah on Saturday, November 30 in a showdown between two Cougars new to the Big 12 Conference. (BYU -11). No. 14 BYU (9-2, 6-2 in Big 12) will be depressed after losing in Weeks 12 and 13 and seeing their unbeaten season and CFP hopes likely going poof in two weekends in games that went down to the last play. The Tackling Mormons may be out of the national championship picture now, but they sure do play in some exciting games. Houston (4-7, 3-5 in Big 12) doesn’t play in exciting games but does play in low-scoring and boring games played in quicksand and not FieldTurf. Shakespeare would love the Cougars from Utah but hate the Cougars from Texas. This Houston vs BYU prediction and pick is to take the Under as BYU (7-4-0 ATS)—a team with one of best ATS records—prays for a miracle and waits to see what Bowl it will get while Houston will just be glad their Under-y and losing season is finally over.

Kevin’s Totals Pick: Houston-BYU Under 42.5
