Vegas Golden Knights vs. Toronto Maple Leafs Game Overview
All right, let’s get into this hockey action between Vegas and the Leafs here on Wednesday. You look at the Leafs—playing some pretty good hockey. The Leafs have been winners of five of their last six hockey games, including a nice OT win over the Capitals.
Oh, you look at Vegas—hey, Vegas plays their best hockey at home, undoubtedly. They’re 8-2 at home this season. On the road? It’s a coin flip: a passable 3-3-2 record on the road this season. And guess what? The Leafs are also 3-3-2 on the road, but they’re at home here. This is where the Leafs play their best hockey.
These two teams are almost identical—they play better at home and not so much on the road. Head-to-head, it’s been dominant by Vegas, winners of three of the last four meetings. They split last season’s series 1-1, and we’ve seen 10 goals and 8 goals in those games. So, I kind of lean toward a higher-scoring game in this one.
Key Matchup Insights and Betting Pick
It should be Adin Hill getting the start for Vegas, and Stolarz for the Leafs. Look at Stolarz—he’s good for a couple. Hill? Also good for a couple. We might see one here or there late in this tough contest. But I’ve got to go with the hometown team, the Leafs, where the home team has been playing the better hockey between these two teams.
And when you look at Vegas? In their last 19 non-conference road games, this Vegas Golden Knights team is just 4-15. This plus-price looks like the books are trying to bait you into taking Vegas. No—go with the Leafs here. Take them on the money line. Lay a little bit of juice, or, if your book offers it, take the Leafs in regulation. I don’t think we see OT in this one.
Take Toronto on Wednesday night. Thanks, everybody, for tuning in. I appreciate each and every one of you. Have yourself a wonderful Wednesday, and I’ll see you on the next one.
