Islanders vs. Flames Game Analysis
All right, let’s get into it—Islanders vs. Calgary in this one.
The Islanders have just one win in their last four games, but they’ve been battling hard. They’ve lost a couple of games in overtime, one to the Devils and another to the Oilers. They’ve been scrappy and scoring goals despite their recent struggles.
On the other side, Calgary started the season hot, slowed down a bit, but has picked it back up, winning two of their last three games. They’ve been scoring goals and playing solid defense as well.
This matchup has a total set at 5.5, which makes sense given the circumstances. Varlamov is expected to start for the Islanders, while Wolf should get the nod for Calgary. Both goalies are expected to put in strong performances, but based on the history between these two teams, I don’t see that total holding up.
Free Pick: Over 5.5 Goals
Head-to-head, these teams have consistently seen high-scoring games. Their last six meetings have resulted in totals of 5-2, 5-4, 4-3, 5-2, and 5-2, with five of those games hitting seven or more goals.
For this one, I’m leaning toward the Islanders to get the job done, but my stronger play is on the over 5.5 goals. I can see this game going 3-3 and possibly needing overtime to decide the winner, but either way, we’re getting over the total of six with seven or more goals in this matchup.
Thanks, everybody, for tuning in! I appreciate each and every one of you. Have yourself a wonderful Tuesday, tackle the books, and I’ll catch you on the next one!
