Ducks vs. Stars
Alright, let’s get into this NHL action. In this matchup, the Ducks are hitting the road after a lengthy six-game homestand, where they managed to pick up two wins. They ended their homestand strong, scoring six goals in their last game against Detroit.
Now, here’s an interesting stat: when the Ducks score five or more goals in a game, they’re 10-1 to the under in their next outing. Lukas Dostal is expected to start in goal for the Ducks, and he’s been a big reason why we’ve seen lower-scoring games for Anaheim this season.
As for the Stars, it looks like Casey DeSmith will likely get the start in goal for Dallas in this one. There’s also a trend worth noting here: under coach Pete DeBoer, Dallas teams that fire 33 or more shots on goal in three consecutive games are 13-1 to the under. That’s a trend you can’t ignore.
Under and Ducks on the Puck Line
So, my pick here? Take the under in the Ducks vs. Stars matchup. I also like the Ducks +1.5 on the puck line as a secondary play. Why? In their last five head-to-head meetings, the Ducks have covered the puck line in four of those contests.
Do you really want to lay -375 on Dallas? I wouldn’t. Do you want to chase the puck line with a -135 price tag attached? Not me. That’s not how you win long-term betting hockey. My main play here is the under, but I’d sprinkle a little on the Ducks +1.5 at a nice plus price. Don’t sleep on the Ducks this Monday.
Have a great day, everyone! Until next time, take care!
