Hi there, it’s Rodd from Tony’s Picks, coming at you with the San Jose Sharks and Pittsburgh Penguins game here on Saturday, November 16th, 2024. Just before we get to that NHL selection, I want to say, hey, if you’re new to Tony’s Picks, welcome aboard! Glad to have you. Make sure you subscribe and give us a thumbs-up as well—it’s greatly appreciated.
Sharks Struggling on the Road
Alright, let’s get into this action here between San Jose and Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh is on the second half of a back-to-back, while the Sharks continue their East Coast trip. San Jose is coming off a 3-2 loss to the Rangers last time out, and they’re looking for a bounce-back here. Tough spot, though, against the Penguins.
The San Jose Sharks, when they face bad teams, just seem to play down to their level. They’re 0-11 on the road this season against teams winning between 25% and 40% of their games. Yikes.
Pittsburgh Dominance Over San Jose
The Pittsburgh Penguins are -210 favorites here, and there’s really only one way to go—that’s the Penguins on the puck line. Looking back at what they’ve done, in both meetings last season, Pittsburgh outscored the Sharks 16-5. I don’t think it gets any better here for San Jose.
The Sharks have been scrappy, but as this road trip continues, I don’t think they can keep it close with Pittsburgh. The Penguins certainly remember that 10-2 beatdown they handed the Sharks last year, followed by a 6-3 win.
Final Pick: Penguins on the Puck Line
This is one of those “get-right” spots for a Penguins team that’s been playing poorly. Give me the Penguins on the puck line in this one on Saturday.
Thanks, everybody, for tuning in. I appreciate each and every one of you. Have yourself a wonderful Saturday, and I’ll catch you on the next one!
