Islanders vs. Kraken
Alright, let’s get into this action between the Islanders and Seattle. Looking at Seattle, hey, they’re playing some pretty good hockey, winners of three straight games. Home cooking has been good for them after that long five-game road trip. Seattle has won three straight, beating Vegas, Columbus, and Chicago in that stretch.
Now, looking at the Islanders, they got a nice win versus Vancouver after losing to the Oilers in overtime 4-3 and then losing to the Devils 4-3 in overtime. The Islanders have actually been playing pretty good hockey. With a bounce here or there, we could be talking about the Islanders on a five-game winning streak. As it stands, they’ve won three of their last five contests, including beating Vancouver 5-2.
Why the Islanders Have the Edge
Let’s talk about who this Kraken team has beaten. As I said, Vegas, Columbus, and Chicago—congratulations, but Vegas stinks on the road, Columbus stinks on the road, and the Blackhawks, well, they don’t follow wins with wins. So, you’ve got three nice, easy wins there for Seattle.
You can be plus money with this Islanders team that I think is playing the better hockey. Looks like Sorokin is going to get the start here for the Islanders versus either Daccord or Grubauer for Seattle. This is the front end of a back-to-back spot for Seattle, so who’s going to start in goal? I think it’ll be Daccord.
One thing to note: Seattle on Saturdays—whoo!—1-10 straight up. Give me the Islanders in this one on Saturday.
