Devils on Fire, Lightning Rebounding
Alright, let’s get into this action here on Saturday. Who’s getting the start for the Devils? Looks like Markstrom is going to get the start for the Devils in this one. For the Lightning, it should be Vasilevskiy.
Now, looking at what the Lightning have been doing—they just ended their four-game losing streak by arguably beating the hottest team in hockey, the Winnipeg Jets, 4-1 in their last outing. As for the Devils, well, arguably, they’re playing the hottest hockey right now. Winners of five of their last six, with their only loss coming to the Sharks 1-0 on the second half of a back-to-back—so that’s forgivable.
Why the Devils Have the Edge
The Devils have won seven of their last nine games and are definitely playing great hockey. For me, they’re just playing the better hockey overall. Markstrom getting the start for the Devils, Vasilevskiy for the Lightning—and when you look at what this Devils team does well, they really step up against good teams. Against teams with winning records, they’re on a 17-3 run. I’m not going against that. Give me New Jersey in this one on Saturday.
