Tulane Green Wave vs Rice Owls 10-28-23

NCAAF Best and Worst ATS Teams

NCAA Football Week 12 Review

Army Still the Best ATS Team, But Tulane on Their Heels

Army took over the lead as the best NCAAF team Against The Spread (ATS) last week as the Black Knights improved to 7-1-1 ATS with a 14-3 victory against North Texas and covered the 6.5 points closing number as QB Bryson Daily returned. With the win, the Black Knights officially sewed up a date in the American Athletic Conference (AAC) Championship Game on Friday, December 6 (ABC, 8 ET/5 PT).

So who will Army (9-0, 7-0 in AAC) be playing? None other than the team with the second-best ATS mark in the land, Tulane (9-2 ATS), who clinched an appearance in Week 12, shutting out Navy, 35-0 in Annapolis on Senior Day. Army has allowed just a total of 6 points in its last 2 wins while the Green Wave have also allowed 6, so we are looking at the best and most important AAC Championship Game ever in three weeks.

After Week 12 play, the College Football Betting Trends show that SU Favorites are 556-173 (76.3%) with Home teams 472-257 (64.7%). In the ATS category, Favorites are 348-367-14 ATS (48.7%), with Away Favorites 105-117-6 ATS (47.3%) and Home Favorites now sitting at 243-250-8 ATS (49.3%). Home Underdogs are 117-105-6 ATS (52.7%) while Road Underdogs are 250-243-8 ATS (50.7%).

Georgia State New King ATS Rat After an Arizona Cover

Georgia State (2-8, 0-6 in Sun Belt) lost its 7th straight game SU, falling to Arkansas State, 27-20 at Home on Saturday and failing to get the gridiron butter as 2.5-Point Spread Favorites in Atlanta. On Friday night, Arizona (4-6 SU, 2-5 in Big 12) defeated Houston in Tucson, 27-3 in a game which saw the Wildcats close as 1-Point Spread chalks over the Cougars and a game that went well Under the Total (46.5). Houston is the best Under team in the NCAAF Totals market with a 9-1 record.

Oregon State entered the fray with its 8th ATS loss, thanks to a 28-0 shutout at Air Force, 28-0 who was on this last week but improved to 3-8 ATS along with Utah State and Kent State who also covered the number in Week 12. Tied with Oregon State, and Arizona with 2-8-0 ATS records is Purdue, 49-10 losers to Penn State in West Lafayette, Indiana in a Free Picks handicap that we nailed for you here this week at Tony’s Picks.

NCAAF Week 13 ATS Pick and Prediction

Army, Tulane, Colorado, Marshall, and Indiana have been the best NCAAF teams to bet on while Georgia State, Arizona, Oregon State, and Purdue have been the best fades this 2024 NCAA Football Regular Season. One team having a pretty disappointing season and just 2-7-1 ATS and on the Rats list is NC State (5-5 SU). QB CJ Bailey (1,794 passing yards, 12 TD, 5 Interceptions) and the Wolfpack will be facing QB Haynes King (1,600 passing yards, 9 TD, 1 Interception) and Georgia Tech (5-4-1 ATS, 6-4-0 O/U) at Bobby Dodd Stadium (Shaw Legion NXT Synthetic Turf) in Atlanta on Thursday night (ESPN, 7:30 ET/4:30) in Week 13 action, and with the Ramblin’ Wreck 2-1-1 ATS in the last 4 series meetings and 3-1 SU, this NC State State vs Georgia Tech prediction is to side with the upstart Yellow Jackets to win by 10 or more.
