Tulane vs Navy Preview
No. 25 Tulane (8-2-0 ATS, 6-4-0 O/U) heads in here ranked in the Top 25 and owners of one the best ATS records in FBS, but despite all of that jazz and the Green Wave’s status as TD Point Spread Favorites, this AAC showdown at Navy (6-3-0 ATS, 7-2-0 O/U) will be a tough game and a true test for the visitors, especially with it being Senior Day for the Midshipmen. As of right now, Army leads the American Athletic Conference (AAC) with a 7-0 record with Tulane sitting in 2nd place at 6-0 and Navy in 3rd place with a 5-1 mark. With a victory here, Navy can improve to 6-1 and make its legendary Regular Season-ending date (Dec. 14) with the No. 24 Cadets on for the ages this season. The Middies have a Bye week in Week 13 then are at East Carolina in Week 14.
Tulane Looking to Dry Dock Navy at Annapolis
After losing non-conference games to Kansas State and Oklahoma, Tulane (8-2, 6-0 in AAC) has been magnificent, winning seven straight—four of them on the Road—and now find themselves battling aforementioned Service Academy sides Army and Navy. The Green Waves may not have tanks or aircraft carriers, but Tulane does have Riptide the Pelican so get off my FieldTurf lawn, squid boy. The Green Wave has scored 131 points in their last three games and with precise QB Darian Mensah, stud RB Makhi Hughes, and WR Mario Williams, this team ranks No. 4 in FBS in scoring with 41.0 ppg and put up 70 points up against a Power 4 school (North Carolina) earlier this season. If Tulane can win here and against Memphis, who knows what’s in store for this very impressive team come December.
Tulane Betting Trends
- Makhi Hughes has rushed for 110+ yards in 6 of his last 7 games
- Tulane is 6-1 ATS in its last 7 games, 10-4 ATS the last 14
- The Green Wave have alternated Overs/Unders their last 7 (OUOUOUO)
- Tulane is 8-2 ATS this season, second-best in FBS
- Tulane is 12-3 SU in the First Half in its last 15 games
Navy Can Get Back in the AAC Hunt With a Victory
Navy (7-2, 5-1 in AAC ) has one of the Best Over records in FBS but the Midshipmen played their second straight Under in a 28-7 win at USF in Week 11 (58.5) after a run of 8 straight Overs. What a difference a passing attack makes in three ways: 1—ATS Covers; 2—Overs; and 3—Much more exciting football games for fans and NCAAF bettors. The win over the Bulls snapped a 2-game losing streak (ND, RICE) and put Navy right back in the AAC race with just 1 loss. But can the Midshipmen possibly play their way into one of the 12 College Football Playoff (CFP) spots? Probably not, with Army seeded No. 24 and Tulane seeded No. 25. Heading in here, Navy is averaging 35.7 ppg (#20).
Navy Betting Trends:
- Navy is 6-2 ATS over the last 8 games
- The Over is 3-0 the last 3 series meetings after the Under went 3-0
- The Over is 5-0 in Navy’s 5 Home games this season
- The Midshipmen are 3-0 at Home vs Tulane, winning by 17, 2, and 3
- Navy is 5-1 SU in the 6 lifetime meetings vs Tulane
Tulane vs Navy Pick and Prediction
This Tulane vs Navy prediction and free NCAAF pick will look to the Totals market and bank on a 4th straight Over in this series and a bunch of offense by both sides in Annapolis where the Weather forecast calls for Clear Skies, a High of 56°, with brisk 13-15 mph Winds. Besides the Total, looking at backing Home Underdogs Navy on the Moneyline (+220, BetMGM) also may be worth a look with the Middies unbeaten vs the Green Wave at Home, needing a win to get back in the AAC race, and Senior Day looming large for these proud young men who have turned this program into a real contender.
