Jets’ Dominance on the Road vs. Tampa’s Defense at Home
Alright, let’s dive into this action. Take a look at this Jets team—off to a total hot start at 15-1-0 to kick off their season, setting records. This Winnipeg Jets team has the best power play in the NHL. Look at what they’re doing on the road: they’re 7-0 on the road, scoring five goals per game and averaging 31 shots per game, while defensively holding opponents to just 2.1 goals per game on the road this season. You don’t want to step in front of that train with the way it’s rolling.
But this Tampa team—hey, they can play some defense at home. They’re holding opponents to two goals per game at home this season. With a 4-1-1 home record against the Western Conference, Tampa is 4-4 overall, scoring and giving up an average of 3.4 goals.
High-Scoring Potential in This Matchup
The Jets have a 5-1 record against the Eastern Conference, averaging 5.8 goals per game, which is even higher than their season average of five goals. With both teams capable of putting up points, this matchup has high-scoring potential.
Prediction: Take the Jets and the Over
Only one way to go in this one. At a coin-flip price, this is definitely not a coin-flip game—the Jets should be favored by a bit more here. So, with the odds close to even, give me the Jets on Thursday night. I’m also leaning toward the over on six goals, as that total feels a bit light. Both teams have been scoring plenty. With the Lightning nearly at three goals per game at home and the Jets at 5.8, we could easily see this one hitting seven or eight goals.
So, for me, take the Jets and keep riding them until they nose-dive, maybe not until the playoffs—usually, that’s what happens. Anyway, take the Jets here on Thursday night.
Thanks, everybody, for tuning in! Appreciate each and every one of you. Have yourself a wonderful Thursday, and I’ll see you on the next one.
