Sharks vs. Rangers Starting Goalies Game Preview
Alright, let’s get into this contest. Looking at the starting goalies for San Jose, it appears Blackwood will get the start. Last time we saw Blackwood, he made 44 saves, shutting out the New Jersey Devils, so he’s definitely playing some solid hockey.
As for the Rangers, we might see Shesterkin, but if Jonathan Quick gets the start, it wouldn’t surprise me at all. That’s not confirmed yet.
Rangers’ Response to Losses and Sharks’ Success Against the East
Now, the Rangers are coming off a tough loss, falling 6-3 to the Jets. No shame in that, as Winnipeg is arguably one of the best teams in hockey right now. The Jets really dominated in that game.
Typically, after a loss by two or more goals, the Rangers tighten up defensively – they’re 11-1 following such losses. Meanwhile, the Sharks have been strong against Eastern Conference teams this season, going 2-0-1 and holding opponents to just 1.7 goals per game in those matchups.
Prediction: Take San Jose Sharks on the Puck Line
Only one way to go with this one – take San Jose plus the puck and a half. You might even consider sprinkling a bit on the money line for an upset. The Sharks could pull off a surprise on the Rangers’ home ice this Thursday night.
