Missouri vs South Carolina Prediction 11/16/24 NCAA College Football Picks

Missouri vs South Carolina Prediction

Welcome to NCAA Week 12 and the Battle of the Mayors Cup. I love games where teams are fighting for bragging rights. Both campuses are located in amazing cities named Columbia, so the actual mayors of both cities award the winner’s the trophy each year. Missouri leads the all-time series 8-5 and are having a quality season at 7-2 and are ranked 24th nationally. South Carolina is hanging in there as well at 6-3 this season. Missouri came up with a very timely scoop and score last week to beat Oklahoma 30-23. South Carolina also got themselves a productive win beating a very hot Vanderbilt team 28-7. Raheim Sanders led the highlights for the Gamecocks with a clutch 43 yard receiving touchdown. It was one heck of a play.

Can the Missouri Tigers Win Tonight?

Missouri has the better talent in this game. Quarterback Brady Cook ranks 75th nationally against others in his position. His passer rating comes in at 133.2 and third down efficiency for the Tigers ranks 18th in the nation. Cook averages 196.9 yards passing per game with 7 touchdowns and only 1 interception on the season. He also completes 62.8% of his passes. Mr. Noel leads the team in rushing at 76.3 yards per game and the leading receiver is Mr. Wease Jr. averaging 61.3 yards per game.

• Seven of Missouri’s last 8 November games have gone UNDER the total

• Underdogs in SEC conference games are 32-15-1 ATS so far this season — the best mark of any conference

• Road dogs are 17-4-1 ATS this season in SEC conference games. That is the best conference mark for road dogs       through 11 weeks in the SEC since 1990

Can the South Carolina Gamecocks Win Tonight!

At the helm for South Carolina will be LeNorris Sellers. Sellers ranks 101st amongst all quarterbacks with a 130.5 quarterback rating. He averages 173.1 yards per game with 9 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. Sanders leads the team in rushing with 77.3 yards per game while Simon leads the team in receiving with 39.7 yards per game. Obviously, South Carolina is a team that relies on its defense because they only rank 119th on third down efficiency. But in defensive efficiency they outproduce Missouri 87 to 75. South Carolina beats their opponents on average by 8.8 points, but they will have to do a little bit better than that if they want to cover tonight

• South Carolina has covered the Spread in 9 of its last 10 conference games

• South Carolina has won each of its last 10 games as favorites

• South Carolina is 7-2 against the spread this season

Missouri vs. South Carolina (-13.5) – O/U 43.5 – Free Prediction for 11/16/24

Here is the deal. Missouri has not played well as the away team. They are 1-2 against the spread on the road but there is a bright side. They have only lost on average by 7.7 points this season. So that means we can be confident, with my modeling, that they will be able to keep this game close. A majority of the bettors are on Missouri, who is currently getting 59% of the bet slips. Again, Missouri has the better talent in this game, their net efficiencies are 36.6% better than South Carolina and they have the better quarterback. Cook is reliable under the center so all we need is a couple stops. Missouri looks like the more confident team right now and has all the momentum. Daniel Rickenmann, the 71st mayor of Columbia, South Carolina, had better get his walking shoes on.
