Starting Goalies and Recent Form
Looks like Hart is going to get the start for the Flyers in this one. San Jose is in a back-to-back spot, so we’re likely to see Vanecek starting for the Sharks. Vanecek has had a strong start to his season in the backup role for San Jose. The Sharks have been competitive, winning four of their last six games, even in back-to-back situations. Philadelphia, meanwhile, has gone to shootouts in their last two games, picking up one win and one loss, with their most recent outing being a shootout loss to the Panthers. No shame there—they pushed the champs to the brink.
Sharks on the Puck Line
When it comes to this matchup, I see an overpriced Philadelphia team. I don’t want to lay that kind of price with the Flyers here. Head-to-head, it’s been a “win one, lose one” scenario between these teams, with the last matchup in Philadelphia ending in a 3-2 win. I think we’re looking at another close, tight game.
Sharks on the Puck Line and Under on the Total
I’m taking the Sharks on the puck line in this one to keep it close. I’m also leaning toward the under, expecting a lower-scoring game—first to three wins here. So, give me the Sharks on the puck line on Monday night.
