Georgia vs. Mississippi Preview
No. 3 Georgia (7-1, 5-1 SEC) will bang heads with #16 Mississippi (7-2, 3-2 in SEC) in a big Southeastern Conference game from Oxford, Mississippi on Saturday afternoon that is more important for the Bulldogs in terms of staying in the College Football Playoffs (CFP) mix. After the release of the last CFP rankings, Georgia (+425 to win CFP, DraftKings) was ranked No. 3 and would earn a First Round bye if it could stay in the top four. Ole Miss (35/1 to win CFP) was ranked No. 16 and would need to be in the top 12 in order to qualify for this first-ever FBS knockout tournament which kicks off on December 20. In its last game, the Dawgs defeated Florida, 34-20 for their fourth straight win since losing at Alabama while Ole Miss trounced Arkansas on the Road for its second straight win.
Georgia Seeking its Fifth Straight Double-Digit Win
Since losing to Alabama, Georgia (2-6-0 ATS, 3-5-0 O/U) has won four straight games, all by double–digits, and kept themselves firmly in the 2024-25 CFP race with the Bulldogs convincing 30-15 win at Texas a huge boost and something which may keep them in the top 12 no matter what happens from here on out. However, a loss here to Mississippi could start the beginning of a bad Regular Season ending for Ugga and Georgia, so we expect a focused performance in this one. QB Carson Beck (2,302 passing yards, 17 TD, 11 Interceptions), RB Trevor Etienne (453 rushing yards, 7 TD), and WR Arian Smith (31 receptions, 503 yards, 3 TD) have been reliable for Georgia, but as it has been for the last decade, it’s been the Dawgs defense that has kept them in games and been the big difference, despite some higher-scoring affairs this season. The Bulldogs defense (17.3 ppg) is tied for the 13th best Scoring Defense in the land with California of all teams.
Georgia Betting Trends
- Georgia is just 1-6 ATS in its last 7 games
- The Under is 3-1 in the Bulldogs last 4 games, Under 5-2 last 7 on Road
- Georgia is 8-2 SU in its last 10 with both losses to rival Alabama
- The Bulldogs are 46-1 in their last 47 Regular Season games
- Georgia is 4-9 ATS in the last 13 in the First Half market (-5.95 units)
Ole Miss Needs a Win Here to Stay in CFP Hunt
Mississippi (6-3-0 ATS, 2-7-0) has also trended heavily to the Under this season, with seven straight Unders before finally playing an Over last week in the Rebels big 63-31 romp at Arkansas which saw the Total go over the closing 54 number by 40 points. SEC losses to Kentucky and LSU have pretty much made making the CFP an uphill climb for Ole Miss, but a win here against Georgia would likely quickly put them back in the mix. QB Jaxson Dart (3,210 passing yards, 21 TD, 3 Interceptions), RB Henry Parrish (678 rushing yards, 10 TD) and WR Tre Harris (59 receptions, 987 receiving yards, 6 TD) will have their work cut out for them at The Vaught. Dart and the Rebels have scored 89 points in their last two games, but will be facing the toughest defense in the SEC with the pressure of winning on their shoulders. Last year when these two played at Georgia, the Dawgs rolled to a 52-17 victory and easily covered the 11-point spread.

- The Under is 6-0 in the First Half in the last 6 Ole Miss Home games
- Mississippi is a profitable 13-7-2 ATS over the past two seasons
- The Under is 4-2 in the last 6 series meetings, 3-0 at Oxford
Georgia vs Mississippi Prediction
The Rebels looked like they could possibly make a run at a CFP appearance this season, but playing in the SEC is never easy for anyone, in any sport and this is no doubt the best sports conference in college (DI) and has been for decades. With Georgia having won 46 of its last 47 Regular Season games and 11 of the last 12 in this series, it seems like backing the visitors on the Moneyline (-145) and/or on the Point Spread (-2.5) is the logical choice. This Georgia vs Mississippi prediction free college football pick is for the Bulldogs to cover both ATS and SU. Beck and perennial powers Georgia are 33-13-1 lifetime against their SEC-founding rivals Ole Miss and if it can dominate Texas in Austin, should be able to dominate the Rebels in Oxford with so much more on the line now. Turnovers could play a big part in the final outcome here on Saturday afternoon.
