NBA Player Props Picks Today 11/8/24
Jimmy Butler Over 5.5 ATS +110
For the 2024-25 NBA season, Jimmy Butler has been a solid contributor in terms of assists for the Miami Heat. Over the first seven games, Butler has averaged 5.3 assists per game while also contributing 18.1 points and 5.3 rebounds in approximately 34 minutes per game. His assist numbers reflect his role as both a scoring and playmaking presence on the team.
It’s clear the Heat want Jimmy Butler to not only be a scorer but also a facilitator as he leads his team in assists per game. The Heat will be going up against the Denver Nuggets who’re currently allowing 30.6 assists per game to opposing teams which is the highest in the league. The Nuggets have seemed to regress this season and a big part of that is their lackluster performance on the defensive side of the ball. The fact we can get plus money on Jimmy Butler to get 6+ assists to too hard for me to pass up on.
Alperen Sengun Over 10.5 Reb -105
Alperen Sengun has started this season with a strong rebounding performance for the Houston Rockets. He’s averaging 12.3 rebounds per game, showing an effective balance on both ends of the court. He’s contributed 8.3 defensive rebounds per game and 4.0 offensive rebounds per game, demonstrating his ability to impact plays on both ends. Additionally, his rebounding rate is significant, with a total rebound percentage of 22.1% and a defensive rebound percentage of 31%, indicating his consistent presence near the boards.
Sengun is coming off a game where he only logged 5 rebounds but that was against the Spurs who have Wemby in the paint. This is a perfect spot for him to bounce back against a Thunder team that’s allowing 60.4 rebounds per game to opposing teams which is the second most in the league. Expect Sengun to play a ton of minutes due to how good the Thunder are and the fact that there’s a good chance the Rockets will be down in this game. Sengun to get over 10 rebounds is a no-brainer for me in this spot.
Tim Hardaway Jr. Over 2.5 Three Pointers +130
Tim Hardaway Jr. has been a solid three-point contributor for the Detroit Pistons. Over his first nine games, he’s averaged 3.1 made three-pointers per game on 6.4 attempts, achieving a shooting percentage of 48.3% from beyond the arc. This efficiency from deep has been a key factor in his overall scoring, as he’s currently averaging 13.6 points per game. Hardaway’s accuracy and volume from three-point range have been impressive, with multiple games of three or more threes made, including a standout performance with five threes on October 30, 2024, against the Philadelphia 76ers. His three-point shooting remains an essential aspect of his offensive impact on the team, helping to space the floor and create scoring opportunities.
The Pistons will be going up against the Atlanta Hawks in this one which set up perfectly for another big night for Hardaway Jr beyond the arc. They’re currently allowing 17.6 three pointers to opposing teams which is the most in the league. On paper, this Hawks team doesn’t look bad but their downfall has been their defense which Hardaway Jr. should take full advantage of.
Ja Morant Over 24.5 PTS -110
Ja Morant has maintained a strong scoring average of 20.6 points per game over eight games. His shooting percentages include 44.8% from the field and 83.3% from the free-throw line. While his three-point shooting has room for improvement at 25.8%, Morant has shown scoring consistency, with notable performances like his 26-point game against the Bucks on October 31. His scoring output complements his role as a playmaker, contributing to the Grizzlies’ offense effectively this season.
I expect this game to be a shootout as both the Grizzles & Wizards rank in the top 5 in pace of play in the whole league. The Wizards are currently allowing 123.2 points per game to opposing teams which is the 2nd most in the league. This is Ja Morants most favorable matchup he’s had all season and there’s no way I’m passing up the opportunity to take him over points.
