Hawks vs Knicks Player Props Picks
We have an interesting Eastern Conference matchup between two squads trying to get to the next level. The Hawks have been a bettors nightmare losing 4 of their last 5 and coming into this one 1-7 ATS on the season. The Knicks haven’t been terrible but they also haven’t been great coming into this one 3-3. Both these lineups have talent and in this article, I break down three player props that are worth taking a look at.
Karl Anthony Towns Over 1.5 3 PTS -140
Karl Anthony Towns has picked up where he left off being dangerous from beyond the arc. This strong shooting from deep reflects his increasing versatility and efficiency in his shot selection this season, supporting his overall scoring role for the New York Knicks. Towns is coming off a game in Houston where he didn’t make a single three. This is the first time that’s happened this season. I love him to bounce back in this spot against this Hawks team. The Hawks are a three-point shooter dream matchup. They’re currently allowing 17 threes per game which is the most in the league. Points will be easy to come by for this Knicks team. I expect Jalen to draw a lot of attention when he penetrates the paint which will leave Towns open for some good looks beyond the arc. Buy low on Towns after a tough night from 3. He’ll bounce back in this one.
Mikal Bridges Over 16.5 PTS -125
Mikal Bridges has had a promising start to the 2024-25 season as a key scoring option for the New York Knicks. Across the first few games, he has averaged around 18 points per game, with his scoring efficiency fluctuating but mostly remaining solid. He’s posted shooting percentages of 46.2% from the field and 50% from three in some games, though these numbers can vary as he adjusts to his role on a new team. He’s also contributed significantly from beyond the arc, averaging about 2-3 made three-pointers per game on strong efficiency, making him a valuable floor spacer alongside other Knicks stars. He’s coming off back-to-back games where he only put up 15 but that was against the Rockets & Pistons which are two teams that like to slow things down. In this one, he gets matched up with the Rockets who are allowing the 3rd most points to opposing teams and also have the 4th highest pace of play in the league. This Knicks team also lacks depth so we won’t have to worry about Bridges playing enough minutes. All around I think we see Bridges get back to getting over number consistently and I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets in the 20’s in this one against a bad Hawks defense.
Trae Young Under 24.5 PTS -115
Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks has been averaging 23.9 points per game across 8 games. His shooting splits include 39.2% from the field and 30.7% from three-point range on an average of 9.4 three-point attempts per game. Young’s free throw shooting remains highly efficient, with him converting 90.3% of his free throw attempts, which contributes significantly to his scoring efficiency overall. His scoring is supported by his role as the team’s primary playmaker, as he’s also averaging 11.0 assists per game, which has made him one of the league leaders in assists this season. Trae Young has been very up and down to start the season. We saw him have a couple of 30-point games but we’ve seen some lackluster performances as well. In his last game against the Celtics, he put up only 2 points going 1/10 from the field and 0/6 from beyond the arc. Now he gets matched up with this Knicks team that takes pride in playing defense and also ranks dead last in pace of play. I expect Trae Young to have a better game than he did on Monday but I’m not ready to take him to get 25 against this Knicks team.
