NFL Best and Worst ATS and Totals Records
NFL Football Week 9 Review
The NFC North has been the best of the eight NFL divisions this 2024-25 NFL Regular Season, both on the gridiron and in the sportsbooks with the Lions, Packers, Vikings, and Bears a combined 19-8 ATS playing outside their division with the AFC West right behind them at 15-8 ATS. The AFC is the worst division outside their division, going 7-15-1 ATS after the Jets and Patriots both covered in Week 9 followed by the NFC South at 7-14 ATS after the Falcons essentially ended the Cowboys season on Sunday in Atlanta. NFL Favorites were 12-1 SU and 9-4 ATS on Sunday with Home teams going 9-4 SU and Road teams 7-6 ATS. The Under won the day, going 7-6 in the 13 games, thanks to the last three games on the board going Under. Tampa Bay faces the defending Super Bowl champions Kansas City on Monday Night Football.
Commanders and Lions King NFL ATS Cats
Two NFC teams with great QBs, the Detroit Lions and the Washington Commanders, continue to reward their betting backers as they both did again on Sunday in Week 9 with Against The Spread (ATS) wins against the Packers and Giants respectively. For the NFC North leading Lions, it’s Jared Goff who has been pulling all of the right strings lately, while for the Commanders, it is rookie Jayden Daniels who continues to shine. Detroit (-3) had no trouble beating the point spread, while Washington (-3) benefited from a missed two-point conversion by the Giants on the Road to barely cover ATS.
Here are the best teams ATS in the NFL as we start November off and see some teams like the Dolphins (2-6), Raiders (2-7), Browns (2-7), Saints (2-7) and Cowboys (3-5), all already out of the Playoff race. Of note for Hoosiers: The NCAAF’s Indiana Hoosiers (8-1 ATS) and NFL’s Indianapolis Colts (7-2 ATS) are a combined 15-3 ATS (83.3%).
Best NFL Teams ATS
- Washington Commanders 7-1-0 (87.5%)
- Detroit Lions 7-1-0 (87.5%)
- Indianapolis Colts 7-2-0 (77.7%)
- Minnesota Vikings 6-2-0 (75.0%)
- Pittsburgh Steelers 6-2-0 (75.0%)
- Kansas City Chiefs 5-2-0 (71.4%)
Titans the Only NFL Team with Just 1 ATS Win
Two of the worst teams in the NFL met in Nashville on Sunday, with the host Titans defeating the Patriots on a late FG, 20-17, but it was New England who got the ATS victory as closing 3.5- to 4-point Road underdogs, although some sportsbooks had Tennessee at -3 and even one (DraftKings) showing a 2.5. Carolina, Dallas, Seattle, and Miami also continued their losing ways against the number, and anyone parlaying against the worst five NFL teams ATS was eating steak and bragging to their wife on Sunday night, not caring in the least about the Vikings and Colts on Sunday Night Football. Here is where those five rats stack up, with a combined 9-32 ATS mark.
Worst NFL Teams ATS
- Tennessee Titans 1-7-0 (12.5%)
- Carolina Panthers 2-7 (22.2%)
- Dallas Cowboys 2-6-0 (25.0%)
- Seattle Seahawks 2-6-1 (25.0%)
- Miami Dolphins 2-6-0 (25.0%)
High-flying Ravens the Best Over Team with 8-1 Record
No one has scored more points so far this season than Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens (283 points), but these poor Blackbirds aren’t even in first place in their competitive AFC North (Steelers) and have gone 5-3-1 ATS to this point. So blindly backing Baltimore Overs has been a wonderful thing for Totals bettors, and there are eight other teams registering Overs at a 66.7% clip or better. Conspiracy theorists saying that the NFL football is juiced this season may be onto something. Here are the five AFC teams and the four NFC teams who have rewarded Over backers this NFL season.
Best NFL Over Teams
- Baltimore Ravens 8-1-0 (88.9%)
- Carolina Panthers 7-2-0 (77.8%)
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers 6-2-0 (75.0%)
- Washington Commanders 6-3-0 (66.7%)
- Cincinnati Bengals 6-3-0 (66.7%)
- Las Vegas Raiders 6-3-0 (66.7%)
- Denver Broncos 6-3-0 (66.7%)
- New Orleans Saints 6-3-0 (66.7%)
Chargers a Stone Cold Under with Their Great Defense
Everyone thought when Jim harbaugh left Michigan for the NFL and the Los Angeles Chargers, that the former NFL QB would be all about helping Bolts QB Justin Herbet and making the team’s offense better. Instead, it’s been the Chargers defense that has ruled the day and put this AFC West team in prime Wild Card position and a solid side to back on the Road. Playing low-scoring games, LA AFC (+9 TO Differential) has played just one Over and leads the NFL in Scoring Defense (12. 6 ppg, 101 points allowed) as we head into Week 10 where thoughts of turkey and gravy will soon be dancing in our head. Here are the four best Under teams, with a combined 26-9 record to the Under.
Best NFL Under Teams
- Los Angeles Chargers 7-1-0 (87.5%)
- Houston Texans 7-2-0 (77.8%)
- Cleveland Browns 6-3-0 (66.7%)
- New York Giants 6-3-0 (66.7%)
Early NFL Week 10 Prediction and ATS Pick
The Lions (7-1 SU) showed how deep and calm they are this season, grating the Cheeseheads at Lambeau Stadium on Sunday and never really being threatened as Detroit won for the third straight time in Green bay with its two-heading rushing attack and WE Amon-Ra St. Brown led the visitors to a 24-14 victory in the chilly Wisconsin rain. This week, Detroit will again be on the Road against another team facing some injury concerns when they play the Texans in Houston on Thursday Night Football.
Oddsmakers have opened the Lions as 4.5-point Road chalks (-216 moneyline) with the Total at 48.5 in a stadium where Goff & Company know Mother Nature can’t rain on their parade. With the Lions having covered six straight games, going 42-17 ATS (71.2%) in the Regular Season over the last four seasons, and Detroit Head Coach Dan Campbell owning an impressive 46-26 ATS mark (63.9%) with the Dolphins and Lions, backing the visitors before the public bets into this game is your free NFL pick and Lions vs Texans prediction.
