This is David with Tonyspicks.com, here with a two-team NBA parlay for Wednesday, October 23rd, 2024. The NBA is finally back—officially starting on Tuesday—but we have a pretty nice slate of games today on Wednesday, so let’s jump into it.
Game 1: Indiana Pacers vs. Detroit Pistons
The first game we’re looking at is the Indiana Pacers visiting my Detroit Pistons. As a Pistons fan, I would love to see Detroit come out strong this season after last season’s debacle, but I’m going with the Pacers minus five in this game. Detroit really struggled defensively last season, and now, in the first game of the year, they have to go up against this Indiana offense that was outstanding last season.
The Pacers were on a great run, and they come into this game pretty healthy. I do think the Pistons will be better this season, especially defensively, but it’s going to take some time. They have a very young team, and I think it will take a while to get the process down, especially on the defensive end. So, I expect Indiana to start the season off strong with a solid showing in Detroit. I think they score 120-130 points and run away with this one. So, give me the Pacers minus five.
Game 2: Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Toronto Raptors
The second game we’re looking at is the Cleveland Cavaliers taking on the Toronto Raptors. The Raptors are coming off a brutal season last year, and they’re dealing with quite a few injuries heading into this one. It’s not a good sign to start the season with key players banged up. Cleveland comes in relatively healthy; I think Strus is out, but overall, I like Cleveland minus five here.
This pick is more of a fade on the Raptors. We saw Toronto really struggle last year, and now they enter this season already dealing with injuries. I don’t think they’re going to offer much resistance here, so take Cleveland minus five.
