This is David with Tonyspicks.com, here with a two-team NHL parlay for Tuesday, October 22nd, 2024. We have a loaded NHL slate today, so let’s hop right into it.
First Game: Colorado Avalanche vs. Seattle Kraken
The first game we’re looking at is the Colorado Avalanche on the road against the Seattle Kraken. Seattle comes in on a three-game winning streak, but I’m taking the Colorado Avalanche on the moneyline. We’ve seen the Avalanche struggle early in the season, but they finally got in the win column with two consecutive victories.
Defense has been a big issue for them; while their lineup can score goals, they’ve been allowing way too many early on. They played two lesser opponents in their last games, and while that defense showed improvement, I think they match up well here with the Kraken. Seattle has had a couple of high-scoring games, but I don’t see that being sustainable for their lineup. They’re likely to be one of the lower-scoring teams in the NHL again, which gives this Avalanche defense a bit of a break. So, I’m taking Colorado on the moneyline, around even money, maybe at -115.
Second Game: Calgary Flames vs. Pittsburgh Penguins
The second game we’re looking at features the Calgary Flames hosting the Pittsburgh Penguins. Calgary has been one of the biggest surprises at the start of this NHL season. They’re 4-0-1 and, despite coming off a loss, it was in overtime, so they’ve been playing extremely well.
I had some concerns about their defense and goaltending, but they’ve allowed two goals or fewer in three straight games, and the goaltending has been solid, no matter who’s in the net. On the other hand, Pittsburgh has struggled to keep the puck out of their net, allowing too many goals. I’m not a huge fan of the Penguins this season; they have an aging core. I know Malkin is off to a great start, but overall, I’m not sold on this team. Initially, I didn’t think I’d be a fan of the Flames either, but they’re hot right now and playing great defense. So, I’m taking the Flames on the moneyline.

For our two-team NHL parlay for Tuesday, we’re going with the Colorado Avalanche on the moneyline and the Calgary Flames on the moneyline.
