Charlotte vs Navy 10/19/24: Free Pick Total
Let’s get you right to that free winner. My Navy, ranked 25th—whoever thought it? And Army, ranked 23rd—wow! But let’s talk about Navy here. They’ve had a great start to the season, remaining undefeated with wins over Memphis, Temple, and Bucknell. I know Memphis was probably their biggest quality win. They have a huge game coming up after Charlotte against Notre Dame, but these military teams aren’t about looking ahead. They’re about facing their opponents head-on and playing hard for the entire game.
So, what we’re looking at here is the total against Charlotte. Charlotte just beat East Carolina, scoring 55 points on them. The total for this game is set at 55.5 points. The last time these two met, Navy beat Charlotte 14-0. The spread has moved down to 16, with the public all over Navy, so the oddsmakers think it’s going to be a bit closer. They’re trying to get the public on Navy by lowering the spread.
Why We’re Taking the Under
I won’t lie, I like Navy. I think the oddsmakers are making a huge mistake because this team won’t look ahead. Navy is a complete package—they have a quarterback who can throw, but they love to run the ball. On the other side, even though Charlotte beat East Carolina by 55, East Carolina got beat by Appalachian State, and if you know anything about Appalachian State this year, they haven’t been great.
So, I’m going to take the under 55.5 because Navy likes to run the ball. If they don’t have to pass, they’ll run it all day and control the clock. This is a home game for Navy, so we’re taking the under 55.5. And I’ve already mentioned I like Navy minus the points, so there’s another one for you.
