First Leg: New Jersey Devils vs. Toronto Maple Leafs
Alright, let’s get into it. We’re heading to New Jersey, where the Leafs are coming to town. It’s the second half of a back-to-back for the Leafs, which puts them in a tough spot. Who’s getting the start in goal for the Leafs? It looks like Wall might be back, and if not, we could see Hildebee making his NHL debut. Either way, it’s a challenging situation for the Leafs, especially after facing Montreal the night before. As for the Devils, this will be their third game of the season. They beat up on Buffalo in Europe, and now they’re back at home. The Devils won without a full squad, and it looks like Markstrom will be getting the start in goal for them. For the first leg, take the New Jersey Devils.
Second Leg: Minnesota Wild vs. Columbus Blue Jackets
Next up, we’re going to Minnesota, where they’re taking on Columbus. Merzlikins will be in goal for Columbus, and Gustavsson should be starting for the Wild. Both goalies are solid, and I predict a tight game—possibly 3-3 at the end of regulation. Either way, we’re taking Columbus plus the puck and a half. Columbus is 13-0 against the puck line in their last 13 trips to Minnesota, and I think they can keep it close in this one. Second leg, Columbus plus the puck and a half.
Third Leg: San Jose Sharks vs. St. Louis Blues
Finally, we’re heading to San Jose, where the Blues are coming to town. The Blues won’t be singing the blues this time—they’ll definitely be up for this one. It’s a revenge game for the Blues, as the San Jose Sharks were the reason they didn’t make the Stanley Cup playoffs last season. Expect Jordan Binnington in goal for the Blues, and they’ll be ready to go. Take the Blues on the puck line in this one.
