Falcons at Dolphins—The playoff drought for Atlanta has been five seasons. Desmond Ridder returns for his second year under center. Falcons strength was running as they had averaged 33 attempts, 1st in league, for 4.9 yards per attempt which ranked fourth in the NFL. Team was 31st in passing attempts.
Falcons issue defensive was getting off the field on third down where they ranked 31st. They also allowed seven yards per pass attempt. Taylor Heinicke and Logan Woodside will back up Ridder. Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel is in his second year.
Team made the playoffs despite losing five of their final six regular season games. They passing game generated 8.1 per attempt which was best in the league. Pass defense needs improvement and the team was 30th in forcing turnovers. Mike White and Skylar Thompson will backup Tua.
The teams competed in a joint practice on Wednesday. Falcons will play starters. With Tua’s history of injuries it is doubtful that he plays. Thompson did see action last year and in the playoff game for the Dolphins. Play Miami +2.5.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers NFL Betting Pick Prediction 8/11/2023
Steelers at Buccaneers—Mike Tomlin is in his sixteenth year with the Steelers. Kenny Pickett will need to improve a passing attack that finished at 6.4 per attempt sitting 28th in the NFL. They ran the ball a lot in 2022 with 29 rushes sitting 10th in the league.

Tom Brady exits and the Buccaneers signed Baker Mayfield to a one year contract. Team has made the playoffs in three straight years and earned NFC South titles the past two years. Washington Commanders vs. Cleveland Browns NFL Betting Pick Prediction 8/11/2023
Commanders at Browns—Ron Rivera is in his fourth season with the Commanders. They did finish at 8-8-1 but missed the playoffs. A key hire was offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy from the Chiefs.
Ground game and third down in need of improvement on offense. Defense held opponents to 20.2 points a game and strong defending the pass.
Sam Howell is the starting quarterback for Washington with Jacoby Brissett and Jake Fromm serving as backups. Browns opened the preseason with the 21-16 victory to the New York Jets in the Hall of Fame Game. Browns took the game over in the second half outscoring New York 14-0.
Cleveland offense held NYJ to 188 yards. Browns rushed for 172 yards. Rookie quarterback Dorian Thompson Robinson was efficient through the air and running the football. Behind Deshaun Watson at quarterback are Joshua Dobbs, Kellen Mond and Thompson-Robinson.
