San Francisco Giants vs Cincinnati Reds 7/19/2023 Picks Predictions Previews
The San Francisco Giants will go against the Cincinnati Reds in MLB action in Great American Ball Park, Ohio, on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at 7:10 PM ET.
The Giants were on a five-game winning streak when they arrived in Cincinnati this week. The objective is to get it to seven by Tuesday night.
San Francisco is only two matches out of first place in the NL West, thanks to a string during which pitching was at the forefront.
They only allowed 12 runs during the undefeated run, a remarkable record that Ross Stripling will attempt to prolong. After 45.2 innings, Stripling has a 6.11 ERA and a 5.74 FIP, not having had the finest season.
He alternated between the bullpen and the rotation, never pitching more than 5.0 innings in a single outing. Stripling has improved since his comeback in late June, giving up only five runs in 13.1 innings.
Only three of his 13 games this season resulted in victories for the Giants.
Surprisingly, the Giants offense could have been more effective in July, outscoring only one team each game. The 2023 season saw them start the series with 4.66 runs per game average, at 13th overall.
Despite having a huge home park, the Giants’ genuine winning stats are their ninth-place walk rate and 13th-place home runs.
San Francisco does not have a lot of small ball action, ranking 26th in strikeout rate and third in least stolen bases.
They are prone to wild streaks because of what they achieve. It’s impressive when they’re hot. They could benefit from Cincinnati’s ample size throughout the week.
In addition to making 96 appearances in high-leverage situations, Giants pitchers entered the game with runners on base 82 times. The bullpen has 43 saves so far this season, which ranks 23rd in MLB.
The relievers for the Giants entered 91 save situations and had a 78.3% save percentage. They made 36 saves this season, although 10 of their 46 opportunities to do so were lost.
This year, 118 base runners were given to bullpen pitchers, and 28.0% scored. For the year, the Giants used 286 bullpen pitchers.
- The total went UNDER in seven of San Francisco’s last ten matches.
- The San Francisco Giants are 7-0 SU in their previous seven matches.
- The San Francisco Giants are 10-4 SU in their last 14 games against Cincinnati.

San Francisco Giants vs Cincinnati Reds Predictions 7/19/2023
A losing skid replaced the riveting run that propelled Cincinnati into first place.
The Reds need to regain the momentum that has them contending for October after a 1-5 run entering this series, all losses coming to the Milwaukee Brewers, who are currently leading the NL Central.
The ice-cold offense, blanked by the Brewers in three straight games, would be an excellent place to start.
They ultimately scored three times on Sunday, but before play was stopped in the middle of Monday’s game, they could only generate two runs.
Because of their superior pace and hitter-friendly environment, they are tenth in runs per game this year. Only three times have walk rates been higher, and no one stole more bases.
They are having difficulty producing anything, and it couldn’t come at a worse moment.
Sadly, Graham Ashcraft will most likely only be able to salvage this squad if they can score, especially not at home. He only gave up two runs over his last 12.2 innings thrown at home.
Nevertheless, after ten starts at Great American Ball Park, Ashcraft has a 7.16 ERA. Throughout his previous three starts, there is evidence to suggest he improved.
Another argument for this is that he deserves another stinker at home. This game won’t be close if the offense continues to struggle.
Of the 185 inherited base runners, Cincinnati bullpen pitchers have an inherited scoring percentage of 27.6%. Their relievers entered games 143 times with high leverage and 130 times with runners in scoring position.
The Reds have had 102 save opportunities and achieved 52 holds in addition to 14 missed saves. They now own the sixth-best save percentage in the league (70.8%) and have sent 346 bullpen pitchers to the mound this season.
In 48 opportunities for saves, Cincinnati’s bullpen relievers took the mound and secured 34 saves.
- The total went UNDER in five of Cincinnati’s last six matches.
- The Cincinnati Reds are 0-6 SU in their previous six matches.
- The total went OVER in four of Cincinnati’s last six games against San Francisco.
San Francisco Giants vs. Cincinnati Reds. The MLB pick for this game is the Cincinnati Reds. Ross Stripling doesn’t have the finest stuff and only pitches for a short period in games.
At the plate, Cincinnati is in serious need of a turnaround. This match is the ideal chance at home.
Graham Ashcraft of the Reds struggled at home, but the fact that he limited each of his previous three opponents to one run is encouraging. Let’s go for four against a Giants offense that struggled this month.
Cincinnati wins again, giving the home crowd something to cheer for. The Cincinnati Reds will win by a predicted score of 8-2.
