This season, Nico Hoerner, who is 26 years old, will have a milestone birthday. He was always an essential member of the Cubs‘ squad due to his defensive flexibility.

Can Hoerner become a star for Chicago, though? He participated in 135 games in 2022 and had a.281/.327/.410 slash line with a.736 OPS.

Even while they are far from superstar levels, those stats are respectable. Hoerner nonetheless managed 20 steals.

And given that MLB wants to raise the number of bases that are stolen in 2023, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Hoerner finish the season with 30 steals.

Hoerner will be given consideration for the All-Star team if he keeps improving his OBP while also raising his hitting average.

Though he only hit 10 home runs last season, adding more power would help, Nico Hoerner’s potential is still very high.

Hosmer once played for the Royals in Kansas City and was an All-Star. Later, in the second half of 2022, he would sign with the San Diego Padres before joining the Boston Red Sox.

Hosmer’s overall batting line was.268/.334/.382 with a.716 OPS. But to start the season, his role with the Padres was a little hazy, and he never really found his groove.

Hosmer is a surefire candidate to bounce back, presuming the Cubs give him a regular everyday role. Although hitting at Wrigley Field presents unique difficulties, Hosmer should still have a strong season.

If Bellinger and Hosmer, along with Ian Happ and Nico Hoerner, have strong games, Chicago will be in a position to pursue the Wild Card.
