Wisconsin had all the ingredients to be an NCAA Tournament club as the season got off to an 11-2 start.
Nevertheless, the Badgers lost six of their following seven games and were unable to make up ground in the remaining games.
They did not win consecutive games since Jan. 3 when they beat Western Michigan and Minnesota in back-to-back contests.
After Wisconsin was defeated by Ohio State at the start of the Big Ten Tournament, its chances of making the NCAA Tournament were effectively over.
Wisconsin’s lack of interest in the NIT was reflected in the oddsmakers’ selection of the Badgers as barely 3-point favorites over Bradley in the first round.
