Wisconsin Badgers vs Iowa Hawkeyes 11/12/2022 Picks Predictions Previews

The Wisconsin Badgers will go against the Iowa Hawkeyes in NCAAF action in Kinnick Stadium, IA, on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 3:30 PM ET. The Badgers’ season was dismal; they are only 5-4 entering this match and only 3-3 in conference play.

Former 5-star recruit Graham Mertz is still having trouble, and Wisconsin was not able to run the ball as effectively as they have in the past.

However, the Badgers’ defense performed admirably thus far, and it was crucial in last week’s spectacular home victory against a strong Maryland squad in Madison.

Since the dismissal of head coach Paul Chryst, Wisconsin played better, and this week against Iowa, the Badgers will aim to build on their season-best victory.

This team was particularly excellent over the previous two weeks, stopping two strong attacks in Purdue and Maryland. The Badger defense was strong this season.

Wisconsin limited Maryland to just 10 points while limiting Purdue to 24 points, with the majority of the Boilermakers’ scoring occurring in garbage time. Despite their erratic offense, Wisconsin is currently doing extremely well defensively.

  • The total went OVER in 6 of Wisconsin’s last 7 matches.
  • The Wisconsin Badgers are 13-5 SU in their last 18 matches.
  • The Wisconsin Badgers are 4-2 ATS in their last 6 matches against Iowa.

Wisconsin Badgers vs Iowa Hawkeyes Predictions11/12/2022

Both the Wisconsin and Hawkeye teams had a fairly erratic offensive performance this season, but both teams also played well defensively.

The Hawkeyes were particularly outstanding last week against a strong Purdue attack, restricting the Boilermakers to just three points. Iowa’s defense was strong all season.

In the past two weeks combined, Iowa only allowed 16 points to be scored. Although the Hawkeyes’ offense was underwhelming this season and starting quarterback Spencer Petras battled for most of the campaign, Iowa’s defense remained strong.

Just twice this year, Petras passed for more than 200 yards, and just 55.7% of his throws were successfully completed.

This season, Iowa struggled to open up the field, and the Hawkeyes’ running game was also unreliable. Despite having a superior touchdown to interception ratio at home, Petras nonetheless battled for most of the season with the Iowa offense.

  • The Iowa Hawkeyes are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 matches.
  • The total went UNDER in 7 of Iowa’s last 10 matches.
  • The total went UNDER in 4 of Iowa’s last 5 matches at home.

Wisconsin Badgers vs Iowa Hawkeyes. The NCAAF pick for this game is the Iowa Hawkeyes. The Badgers struggled to move the ball against teams like Iowa that can stop the run, and Petras was much better at home this season.

The Hawkeyes’ defense was excellent despite their spotty offense. As a third-year starter who struggled, Iowa ought to be able to force Mertz to throw the ball.

Despite trying to throw 18 times last week against a porous Maryland defense, the junior only managed to complete 5 passes. Only twice this whole year he passed for more than 250 yards.

Since Iowa will be playing at home, the squad will pack the box and force Wisconsin to toss the ball. The Hawkeyes ought to be able to win and cover in this game. The Iowa Hawkeyes will win to a predicted 20-17.
