Since falling to Clemson in early October, NC State won three of its past four games and is eager to keep up it’s good play.

The Wolfpack defeated No. 21 Wake Forest and Virginia Tech in a row, albeit it had to mount a significant comeback against the Hokies.

In the College Football Playoff rankings, they rose six positions as a result of last week’s victory over Wake Forest.

MJ Morris, a rookie quarterback, started his debut game and completed 18 of his 28 passes for 210 yards and 3 touchdowns. In the 30-21 victory, he also carried 19 times for 43 yards.

Since Philip Rivers in 2000, Morris became the first true rookie quarterback to start for NC State. Additionally, he joined a select group of former stars when he became the first quarterback since Jacoby Brissett in 2014 to pass for three touchdowns in his debut.

After Devin Leary suffered a season-ending injury and backup Jack Chambers underperformed against Virginia Tech, Morris was named the starter.

After Chambers left the game, Morris took the lead in the victory comeback, and he later added his strong performance from the previous week.
