St Louis Blues vs Seattle Kraken 10/19/2022 Picks Predictions Previews

The St. Louis Blues will meet with the Seattle Kraken in NHL action in Climate Pledge Arena, WA, on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at 10:00 PM ET.

The Blues’ attack, which scored five goals in the opening-night game, is expected to help them become one of the top teams in the Western Conference.

The top line was led by Vladimir Tarasenko and Pavel Buchnevich, who each produced 3 goals and added an assist, but the rest of the attack also contributed.

While defenseman Justin Faulk, Torey Krug, and Nick Leddy contributed three assists from the blue line to help open up the attack, Brayden Schenn, Ivan Barbashev, and Jake Neighbours collaborated for two goals and two assists.

On opening night, the Blues’ attack carried the team, but the defense also played well, conceding just two goals. The top defensive duo of Justin Faulk and Torey Krug performed admirably, but the rest of the defense also stepped up, forcing turnovers in the defensive zone and reducing shot attempts.

Goaltender Jordan Binnington also hopes to improve on a successful debut performance in which he stopped 23 of the 25 shots he faced.

  • The total went OVER in 4 of St. Louis’ last 5 matches.
  • The St. Louis Blues are 11-3 SU in their last 14 matches on the road.
  • St. Louis is 2-4 SU in their last 6 outings in the Western Conference.

St Louis Blues vs Seattle Kraken Predictions 10/19/2022

The Kraken is looking to bounce back from a difficult debut season, but they need their attack to improve after producing only 11 goals during their first four games.

The top two lines were paced by Andre Burakovsky, Jaden Schwartz, and rookie center Matthew Beniers, who have a collective five goals and seven assists, but the rest of the offense faltered.

Brandon Tanev and Jordan Eberle, who both play important roles in the forward unit but only contributed one goal and two assists to the attack thus far, are expected to step up.

Although the offensive had trouble, the Kraken’s defense fell short, surrendering 4.00 goals per game. The top pairing, which was headed by Vince Dunn and Adam Larsson, struggled, enabling opponents to consistently get opportunities on goal.

Furthermore, Philipp Grubauer had trouble in goal thus far this season, giving up 10 goals on 67 shots.

  • The Seattle Kraken is 2-8 SU in their last 10 matches.
  • Seattle is 2-7 SU in their last 9 matches in the Western Conference.
  • The Kraken is 1-4 SU in their last 5 contests played in October.

St. Louis Blues vs Seattle Kraken. The NHL pick for this game is the St. Louis Blues. The Kraken want to win on their home rink, but I think the Blues will dominate them right away because of a quality lineup across all three of their units.

With Vladimir Tarasenko, Ivan Barbashev, and the rest of the forward group dominating the ball in the offensive zone and creating open shots with excellent puck movement, the Blues want to build on a five-goal performance and score goals at will.

By forcing turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shot attempts, Justin Faulk, Torey Krug, and the rest of the defense should help the Blues contain the struggling Kraken offense, which only managed to score 11 goals so far this season.

This will give Jordan Binnington more opportunities to make crucial saves in the goal. With a great showing on the road, the Blues ought to prevail in the contest. The St. Louis Blues will win to a predicted score of 4-2.
