Team has the four pick in Jaden Ivey and the 13th overall pick in Gabrriele Procida. Key loss was Jerami Grant. Cade Cunningham brough a spark to the Pistons last season. Their season win total has creeped up three games since released at 26.5. Play Detroit -3.
Washington Wizards vs. Indiana Pacers NBA Pick Prediction 10/19/2022
Wizards at Pacers—Starters are healthy for Washington. Theis out for the Pacers. Key additions for the Wizards were Monte Morris and Will Barton to add scoring. Morris converted 39.4% from three a season ago. Delon Wright also comes over to add depth to the bench.
An offensive starting five for the Pacers with Hield, Haliburton and Myles Turner. Backcourt is the strength of this team but weak in other areas.
At 23.5 season total wins the Pacers are projected as the second worst team in the league. There won’t be much defense played here as Indiana may be looking to unload some starters at the break to go into total rebuild. Play Washington and Indiana over 227.5.
Houston Rockets vs. Atlanta Hawks NBA Pick Prediction 10/19/2022
Rockets at Hawks—Tate out for the Rockets. Bogdan Bogdanovic out for the Hawks. Christian Wood key loss for Houston. They do have three first round picks on the roster including the third overall in Jabari Smith.
Season win total of 23.5 suggests this team will be bottom run again. Huge move for the Hawks as they trade for scorer Dejounte Murray. He is lined up with Trae Young. Hunter, Collins and Capela round up the starting five. Rockets lack of defense will create a fast pace and high scoring game. Play Houston and Atlanta over 233.
New Orleans Pelicans vs. Brooklyn Nets NBA Pick Prediction 10/19/2022
Pelicans at Nets—Starters healthy for New Orleans. Curry, Harris and Warren out for the Nets. Pelicans coming off a competitive first round loss in the playoffs to the Suns in six games last season. CJ McCollum was a great addition to the team.
Also factor Zion Williamson is healthy to start the season. Bench stepped up last year for New Orleans with development of Jose Alvarado and Devonte Graham. Trey Murphy shot 38.2% from three last year. Exiting Brooklyn are Brown and Dragic.
Patty Mills gives them a shooter off the bench but Curry and Harris out are huge here. Williamson and Vucevic down low very potent. Nets were not a good home favorite last season. Play New Orleans +3.
Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Toronto Raptors NBA Pick Prediction 10/19/2022
Cavaliers at Raptors—Rubio is out for the foreseeable future for Cleveland. Otto Porter out for Toronto with Birch and Boucher questionable. Cavaliers one of the surprise teams last season, finishing at 44-40. Big addition of Donovan Mitchell.
Team also acquired Robin Lopez. Exiting are Markkanen and Sexton. Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen were quite the duo last year for the Cavs. Garland and LeVert fill up the starting five. Toronto finished at 50-38 last season eliminated by the 76ers in the first round of the playoffs.
It was an injury riddled season for the Raptors. Starting five remain intact for Toronto and a lineup that relied on defense. Scottie Barnes was productive in his rookie season. Raptors scoring the issue and bench depth the concern in the opener with their injuries. Play Cleveland +2.5.
New York Knicks vs. Memphis Grizzlies NBA Pick Prediction 10/19/2022
Knicks at Grizzlies—Grimes out for NY. For Memphis Brooks doubtful with Green, Jaren Jackson and Williams out. Knicks faded following the break and finished at 37-45. Exiting are Burks and Noel. Additions include Jalen Brunson and Isaiah Hartenstein.
Team has depth on the bench but the starting five needs to be better defending around the rim. Brunson starts with four returning starters for New York as the team is primed to not break this team apart. Memphis won 62 games last year by going as deep as the Western Conference Finals.
Danny Green is an addition this year and they add the 19th and 23rd first round pick to this roster. Kyle Anderson and DeAnthony Melton are key supporting players exiting. Questions regarding the depth of this team on opening night with Green and Jackson out.
Brooks averaged 18 points last year and unlikely to play. Even Ziaire Williams produced 8 points off the bench and will miss. Play NY Knicks +5.5.

Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Minnesota Timberwolves NBA Pick Prediction 10/19/2022
Thunder at Timberwolves—OKC has a healthy roster. Pascheall out for the Timberwolves. Thunder first round pick Chet Holmgren out for the season. They do have the 11th and 12th pick in the draft on their roster. Strong cover team last year at 48-30 with four pushes despite only 24 wins.
Minnesota won 49 games last season and entered the postseason. Notable losses include Beverly and Malik Beasley. Key additions include Gobert, Anderson, Rivers and Paschall. Minnesota improved their defense last season which catapulted to team into the postseason.
Giving OKC double digits is always risky with how well the team is coached and can make up large deficits to cover. Gobert and Towns down low will make it tough for second shot opportunities. Thunder will have trouble scoring here. Play Oklahoma City and Minnesota under 227.
Charlotte Hornets vs. San Antonio Spurs NBA Pick Prediction 10/19/2022
Hornets at Spurs—Ball out for Charlotte. San Antonio healthy. Charlotte replaced their head coach with Steve Clifford who is a defensive minded coach. Exiting are Miles Bridges and Montrezl Harrell. No key offseason acquisitions.
Strong offensive team behind Rozier, Hayward and Ball. But Ball injury is huge because the team defended poorly around the perimeter. Key losses for the Spurs in the offseason were Murray and Walker. They do have three first round picks on their roster.
San Antonio are projected as the worst team in the NBA with a 22.5 season win total. Veteran’s McDermott and Poeltl could be moved for picks at the deadline. Prefer the scoring from Hornets here. Play Charlotte -1.5.
Denver Nuggets vs. Utah Jazz NBA Pick Prediction 10/19/2022
Nuggets at Jazz—Starters and key reserves healthy for the Nuggets. Azubuike out for the Jazz. The good news for the Nuggets is that Michael Porter Jr. and Jamal Murray are back. Murray and Jokic on the court together the team was very efficient averaging 125 points per 100 possessions.
Bench is improved with Bruce Brown, Caldwell-Pope and Ish Smith. Pick 21 in the draft was Christian Braun who looked good in the preseason out of Kansas. Huge losses in the offseason for Utah as they lose Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell.
Notable additions are Lauri Markkanen and Collins Sexton. Bench for the Jazz is very young. Utah is being bet as one of the worst teams in the NBA with a season win total odds now at 25.5. Backcourt is strong for Denver so look for a fast pace here. Play Denver and Utah over 221.
Dallas Mavericks vs. Phoenix Suns NBA Pick Prediction 10/19/2022
Mavericks at Suns—Bertans and Ntilikina out for the Mavericks. Kleber questionable. Crowder and Shamet out for the Suns. Exiting Dallas are Jalen Brunson and Trey Burke. They do add JaVale McGee and Christian Wood.
Appears the Nuggets talent wise took a step back and did not make the team better. Bench is a major concern. The core for the Suns return.
These are key losses for the Suns with Crowder and Shamet out. But fortunately, the Phoenix bench is deep. Brunson loss will be felt for the Mavs. Play Phoenix -4.5.
Portland Trailblazers vs. Sacramento Kings NBA Pick Prediction 10/19/2022
Trailblazers at Kings—Payton, Sarr and Watford out for the Trailblazers. Keegan Murray out for Portland. Trailblazers were a 27 win team last year and moved McCollum but Lillard remains. Added to the roster was scorer Jerami Grant and Gary Payton.
Josh Hart gives the Trailblazers scoring off the bench. Another down season for the Kings finishing with 32 wins last season. Sabonis was acquired at the trading deadline and with De’Aaron Fox the Kings have a potent scoring punch.
Kevin Huerter and Malik Monk are additions this season. Both teams have offensive talent with flaws on the defensive end. Play Portland and Sacramento over 226.
