The Portland Trail Blazers play their final home exhibition game of the season on Thursday against Maccabi Ra’anana, an Israel-based professional basketball club, and there’s a good chance many Portland regulars will sit down.

Expect most of the Blazers’ starters to be at rest for the match. Key players on the bench will give the young ones the chance to display their mettle in this matchup.

The starters at rest, shooting guards Damian Lillard and Anfernee Simons, would open up minutes on the perimeter for rookie PG Shaedon Sharpe, who also plays small forward.

Portland took the latter half of last season to begin their team build-up around PG Damian Lillard with the added benefit of losing enough games to fall into the No. 7 overall pick in Kentucky guard Shaedon Sharpe.

This summer they continued the process of building a more versatile, defensive-oriented supporting cast.

Ra’anana vs Portland Trail Blazers Predictions 10/6/2022

Maccabi Ra’anana suffered a 40-game landslide loss courtesy of the LA Clippers in their last preseason encounter to a score of 81-121 on Friday night, The Clippers manhandled the Israeli-based team without their top players in rotation including Paul George and Kawhi Leonard.

The NBA will have preseason games against non-US teams, but Maccabi Ra’anana from Israel, was given the opportunity and they will have to take advantage of it to prove that Israel basketball can match up with the big boys.

In their first friendly game, they fell 121-81 against the Los Angeles Clippers. Maccabi Ra’anan introduces forward Terrence Jones, who played at Jefferson High School and Kentucky in Portland. Jones spent seven seasons in the NBA, averaging 10.4 points and 5.7 rebounds per game.

In the loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, Ra’anana allowed Luke Kennard a team-high with 16 points (4-5, 3 PM), while Moses Brown added 14 points and 13 rebounds.

Maccabi’s Anthony Morse tallied a game-high 20 points and seven rebounds for Ra’nana in a losing effort. Watch out for Anthony Morse, who was the best scorer in the game against Los Angeles where he contributed 20 points after 29 minutes on the court.
