Wisconsin vs. Ohio St College Football Pick Prediction 9/24/2022
Wisconsin at Ohio St—Wisconsin improved to 2-1 after their 66-7 home win to New Mexico St. Badgers offense rolled up 595 yards in the win with the run game averaging nearly six yards per attempt. Defense held the Aggies to only 242 yards.
Wisconsin has a 17-14 home loss to Washington St and play their first road game in this spot. Quarterback Graham Mertz played well against the weak opponents. In the Washington St loss, the signal caller was 18 of 31 for 227 yards, two touchdowns, one pick and 7.3 per attempt.
Ohio St is 3-0 following their 77-21 home win to Toledo behind 763 yards. They do have a 21-10 home win to Notre Dame behind 395 yards and not covering.
Quarterback CJ Stroud in the win against the Fighting Irish went 24 of 34 for 223 yards, two touchdowns and 6.6 yards per attempt. Badgers defense has played well and have been good on third down behind their weak schedule. Play Wisconsin +19.
Miami Ohio vs. Northwestern College Football Pick Prediction 9/24/2022
Miami Ohio at Northwestern—Miami Ohio fell to 1-2 after their 38-17 home neutral site defeat to Cincinnati. Red Hawks struggled offensively with only 183 yards. They gained under two yards per carry on the ground 116 passing on 21 attempts.
Sophomore quarterback Aveon Smith is completing only 53.2% of his passes for 6 yards per pass attempt. The backup is in for an injured Brett Gabbert who is out for the season. Defense allowed 341 passing yards on 36 attempts.
Northwestern fell to 1-2 after their 31-24 home defeat to FCS Southern Illinois. Wildcats struggled defending the pass allowing 261 yards passing to their FCS opponent on 37 attempts. South Carolina transfer Ryan Hilinski is completing 63.8% of his throws with 6.8 per attempt.
Wildcats are moving the football with 473 yards and 320 in the passing game and will exploit a weak Red Hawks pass defense. No Gabbert for Miami Ohio huge here as the backup has not been accurate and isn’t throwing downfield well. Play Northwestern -7.5.
New Mexico vs. LSU College Football Pick Prediction 9/24/2022
New Mexico at LSU—New Mexico improves to 2-1 after their 27-10 home win to UTEP. Lobos limited the Minors on the ground and gave up 299 passing yards on 46 attempts. Run game generated four yards a rush but passing game struggled.
Kansas transfer quarterback Miles Kendrick struggled against Boise St hitting only 9 of 28 with 3.5 yards per attempt. They finished with only 123 yards and 25 rushing against Boise St. LSU comes off the 31-16 home win to Mississippi St.
Strong performance on both ends for the Tigers but win behind a strong fourth quarter scoring the final 21 points holding the Bulldogs scoreless in the final 21 minutes. Tigers had success running with 207 yards on 37 carries and limited Mississippi St to 289 yards. LSU held Mississippi St to only 5 yards per pass attempt.
Quarterback Jayden Daniels is completing 70% of his passes with six touchdowns and 6.7 yards per pass attempt. He is a major run threat running for 93 yards and a touchdown in the win last week. New Mexico will struggle to score on the Tigers because of a weak passing game. Play LSU -31.
Charlotte vs. South Carolina College Football Pick Prediction 9/24/2022
Charlotte at South Carolina—Charlotte improved to 1-3 after their 42-41 road win at Georgia St. Senior quarterback Chris Reynolds returned under center and the 49ers gained 501 yards with 401 passing. Charlotte defense crushed again giving up 602 yards. Reynolds in his two games completing 72.6% with 9.6 yards per pass attempt.
South Carolina fell to 1-2 after their 48-7 home loss to Georgia. Gamecocks defense torched for 547 yards and gave up 462 in the road loss at Arkansas. Oklahoma transfer Spencer Rattler completing 59.4% of his passes, two touchdowns, five picks and 7.1 yards per pass attempt.
Rattler should have success against a 49ers defense giving up 565 yards, 5.5 yards per rush and 11.5 yards per pass attempt. Gamecocks defense has played well. Play South Carolina and Charlotte over 66.5.
Boston College vs. Florida St College Football Pick Prediction 9/24/2022
Boston College at Florida St—Boston College moved to 1-3 after their 38-17 home win to FCS Maine behind 431 yards. They have had offensive struggles scoring 10 at Virginia Tech and 21 at home to Rutgers.
Notre Dame transfer quarterback Phil Jukovec completing 59.4% of his passes with 7 yards per pass attempt. In his FBS games hitting only 55% with six yards per attempt. Florida St is 3-0 after their 35-31 road win at Louisville. Offense produced 485 yards in the win behind a strong performance by quarterback at quarterback.
Defense struggled on the ground facing a running quarterback. Starting quarterback Travis Ward left last weeks game with a leg injury and practices on Wednesday moving around well. Tate Rodemaker is the backup and went 6 of 10 for 109 yards, two touchdowns and a pick in the comeback win.
In the Eagles lone road game, they were held to only 155 yards. First home game against an FBS opponent for Florida St. BC offense very poor to start the season. Play Florida St -17.5.
Hawaii vs. New Mexico St College Football Pick Prediction 9/24/2022
Hawaii at New Mexico St—Hawaii improved to 1-1 after their 24-14 home win to FCS Duquesne behind only 186 yards. Rainbow Warriors only 93 on the ground and threw the air. They held their FCS opponent to 364 yards. Offense generated 17 points as the defense had a pick six.
Quarterback Joey Yellen, a Pittsburgh transfer, completing 46% of his passes with 3.7 yards per pass attempt. New Mexico St 0-4 after their 66-7 road defeat at Wisconsin behind only 242 yards. They did put up over 300 yards on UTEP and Nevada in defeat this season.
Aggies quarterback Diego Pavia completing just 37.5% and was inaccurate against UTEP and Nevada. Rainbow Warriors giving up 6.7 yards per rush this season and are going through a total rebuild.
Hawaii was able to average 360 yards in their losses to Western Kentucky and Vanderbilt. Aggies offense too poor to lay over a field goal here. Play Hawaii +5.

Kansas St vs. Oklahoma College Football Pick Prediction 9/24/2022
Kansas St at Oklahoma—Kansas St fell to 2-1 after their 17-10 home defeat to Tulane. Wildcats offense held to only 336 yards in defeat. Not much downfield passing by Adrian Martinez who was accurate hitting 21 of 31 but only 150 yards for 4.8 yards per pass attempt. On the season Martinez averaging 4.6 per attempt.
Oklahoma is 3-0 after their 49-14 road win at Nebraska. Sooners piled up 580 yards on the Cornhuskers defense. Another good defensive showing by the Venables coached Sooners holding Nebraska to 327 yards.
Quarterback Dillon Gabriel completed only 59% but threw for 230 yards, two touchdowns and 8.5 yards per pass attempt. Sooners crushed the Cornhuskers on the ground for 312 yards on 54 carries. Oklahoma is defending for Venables with the offensive clicking.
Adrian Martinez not getting much yardage with his completions. Passing game far superior for Oklahoma here and with the play of their defense will give them the check mark. Play Oklahoma -13.5.
Louisiana vs. UL Monroe College Football Pick Prediction 9/24/2022
Louisiana at UL Monroe—Louisiana fell to 2-1 after their 33-21 road defeat at Rice. Poor offensive showing by the Ragin Cajuns in their first road game gaining only 175 yards. Louisiana was able to contain the Rice run game but allowed 303 passing yards on 36 attempts.
Quarterback Chandler Fields and Ben Woodridge saw time, and both were ineffective. UL Monroe drops to 1-3 with their 63-7 road defeat to Alabama behind only 169 yards. They have been blown out in both FBS games with a 52-10 defeat at Texas. War Hawks have lost seven straight against FBS competition.
Based on performance Woolridge has performed the best of the two at quarterback for the Ragin Cajuns. That domination win against Eastern Michigan is encouraging for the favorite here. Play Louisiana -9.5.
Wyoming vs. BYU College Football Pick Prediction 9/24/2022
Wyoming is 3-1 after their 17-14 home win to Air Force. Cowboys had a strong defensive performance in the win holding the Falcons to just 272 yards. Utah St transfer quarterback Andrew Peasley completed 78.3% of his throws for 7 yards per attempt. He performed well in their home win to Tulsa.
BYU drops to 2-1 after their 4-120 road defeat at Oregon. Cougars couldn’t get much from their run game rushing for 61 yards on 24 carries. BYU was down 38-7 after three quarters then padded stats and points with 13 in the final quarter.
Quarterback Jaren Hall looked good on paper with 29 of 41 for 305 yards and two touchdowns. He is completing 69% of his passes this season for 7.4 per attempt. Both top receivers for BYU questionable.
Cougars getting producing on the ground with 4.9 yards per carry but the Cowboys have shown an ability to defend the run. Cowboys have protected Peasley this season and on defense getting pressure on the quarterback. Play Wyoming +21.5.
USC vs. Oregon St College Football Pick Prediction 9/24/2022
USC at Oregon St—USC improved to 3-0 after their 45-17 home win to Fresno St. For the third straight game the Trojans gained over 500 yards. Strong performance offensively in the run and pass. Bulldogs did gain 421 yards rushing for 164 on 32 carries on the USC defense.
Caleb Williams on the season completing 74.4% of his passes with 8 touchdowns, no picks and 10.2 yards per pass attempt. Oregon St 3-0 following the 68-28 on a neutral site to FCS Montana St 544 yards. Beavers have a home win to a down Boise St team and needed a last second touchdown to beat Fresno St on the road two weeks ago.
Quarterback Chance Nolan completed only 51.9% on Fresno St. Beavers surrendered 360 yards passing to Fresno St on 45 passing attempts. That is an area that the Trojans can greatly exploit. USC conditioning looks good. In their PAC 12 opener the Trojans blew out Stanford on the road. Play USC -5.5.
Utah vs. Arizona St College Football Pick Prediction 9/24/2022
Utah at Arizona St—Utah is 2-1 with their 35-7 home win to San Diego St. Utes defense strong in the victory holding the Aztecs to 172 yards with 60 in the passing game. Quarterback Cameron Rising threw for four touchdowns and 7.5 yards per attempt on the Aztecs defense. Their run game produced 174 yards on 38 carries.
Arizona St fell to 1-2 after their 30-21 home defeat to Eastern Michigan. Down 24-14 at the half the Sun Devils were held to a touchdown in the second half. ASU was crushed on the ground by the Eagles for 315 yards on 49 carries.
Quarterback Emory Jones had accurate passing numbers but only averaged 5.7 yards per attempt. Jones completed only 50% in the road loss at Oklahoma St. Herman Edwards was fired immediately after the loss. Utes run game generating 218 yards with 5.6 per rush.
That is concerning based how poorly the Sun Devils looked defensively. Utah quarterback has been accurate this season completing 67.1% of his passes, 8 touchdowns, 1 pick and 8.2 yards per pass attempt. Play Utah -15.5.
Western Michigan vs. San Jose St College Football Pick Prediction 9/24/2022
Western Michigan at San Jose St—Western Michigan dropped to 1-2 after their 34-13 home defeat to Pittsburgh. Broncos offense generated only 180 yards in defeat and surrendered 240 rushing yards on 50 carries. Quarterback Jack Salopek had a bad performance going just 6 of 18, three picks and 5.5 yards per pass attempt.
San Jose St dropped to 1-2 with their 24-16 road defeat at Auburn. Spartans run game produced little. Hawaii transfer quarterback Chevan Cordeiro went 24of 40 for 275 yards and 6.9 yards per attempt. Spartans defense did allow 210 rushing yards to the Tigers on 38 carries.
San Jose St pass protection has been poor this season giving up an average of 5 sacks per game. Their offense gained only 288 yards in a 21-17 home win to FCS Portland St. Broncos did go into Ball St and earned a 37-30 win behind 437 yards. Play Western Michigan +7.
Stanford vs. Washington College Football Pick Prediction 9/24/2022
Stanford at Washington—Stanford fell to 1-1 with the 41-28 home defeat to USC. Cardinal mistakes were costly with two interceptions and two fumbles that resulted in a -4 margin. They were able to put up 441 yards on the Trojans defense in the end running for 221 yards.
Quarterback Tanner McKee is completing 68% of his passes for 8.5 yards per attempt with three touchdowns and three picks. Washington is 3-0 after their 39-28 home win to Michigan St who was down their top receiver. Huskies exploited the maligned Spartans pass defense for 397 yards.
Indiana transfer Michael Penix did complete 60% of his passes with four touchdowns and 9.9 yards per pass attempt. He showed well in their two home wins to weak opponents Kent and Portland St. Cardinal featuring a balanced offensive attack this year and has a capable quarterback under center. Play Stanford +14.
