Louisiana vs. Rice College Football Pick Prediction 9/17/2022
Louisiana at Rice—Louisiana moves to 2-0 after their 49-21 home win to Eastern Michigan. Ragin Cajuns down 14-0 at the half outscored the Eagles 49-7 in the second half. Louisiana gained 454 yards with 144 rushing on 35 carries.
Chandler Fields hit on 10 of 21 for 141 yards and three touchdowns. Ben Wooldridge saw action and went 12 of 13 for 169 yards and two touchdowns. This was a heated quarterback battle in the summer.
Ragin Cajuns did smother Eastern Michigan on the ground with 43 yards on 23 carries. They did allow 323 yards passing but on 52 attempts. Louisiana forced five turnovers but missed all five field goal attempts.
Rice moves to 1-1 after their 52-10 home win to FCS McNeese St gaining 491 yards. They opened at USC and were blown out 55-14 behind 280 yards but allowing 538 yards.
TJ McMahon was just 6 of 15 for 65 yards and three picks in the loss to USC and showed better against McNeese St. Owls quarterback play the concern with their first year starter. Play Louisiana -10.5.
UTEP vs. New Mexico College Football Pick Prediction 9/17/2022
UTEP at New Mexico—UTEP improves to 1-2 after their 20-13 home win to New Mexico St. Miners were only able to move the football for 307 yards. The run game generated 141 yards on 29 carries.
Quarterback Gavin Hardison battling accuracy issues this season. He went 13 of 27 for 166 yards and a touchdown. He completed only 43.8% on 48 attempts against North Texas. They did give up 202 rushing yards to the Aggies on 40 carries but only 111 passing yards on 25 attempts.
They opened the season with losses at home to North Texas and at Oklahoma. New Mexico 1-1 after their 31-14 home defeat to Boise St. Dreadful offensive performance with just 123 yards with 69 yards coming on one passing play. The run game generated only 25 yards on 27 carries.
Quarterback Miles Kendrick went 9 of 28 for 98 yards and a touchdown. He was accurate in their win against FCS. Lobos limited Boise St to 318 yards and only 180 through the air. Lobos playing the better defense. Play New Mexico +2.5.
UTSA vs. Texas College Football Pick Prediction 9/17/2022
UTSA at Texas—UTSA improves to 1-1 with their 41-38 road overtime win at Army. Roadrunners gained 443 yards on the Black Knights with 154 rushing on 35 carries. Quarterback Frank Harris went 32 of 45 for 359 yards and three touchdowns.
On the season Harris is completing 68.2% with six touchdowns and a pick with 7.9 yards per attempt. They did give up 485 yards to Army with 304 passing yards on 18 attempts. They opened with a two point home defeat to Houston behind 441 yards. Texas falls to 1-1 with the 20-19 home defeat to Alabama.
Longhorns put up 371 yards but the run game only 79 yards on 33 carries. Quarterback Hudson Card 14 of 22 for 158 yards. Starting quarterback Quinn Ewers is out 4-5 weeks with collarbone injury. Longhorns held the Crimson Tide to 379 yards with 161 rushing on 24 carries.
Pass defense surrendered only 213 yards on 39 attempts. UTSA pass defense a concern but their offense is clicking. Tough back to back game for the Longhorns after a physical battle with Alabama the week prior. Play UTSA and Texas over 59.
Louisiana Tech vs. Clemson College Football Pick Prediction 9/17/2022
Louisiana Tech at Clemson—Louisiana Tech sits at 1-1 with the 52-17 home win to Stephen F. Austin an FCS schools. Bulldogs gained 515 yards in the win. They opened the season at Missouri losing 52-24 surrendering 558 yards with 437 through the air.
Louisiana Tech couldn’t run on the Tigers but did throw for 336 yards. Quarterback Parker McNeil saw time against Missouri and completed 7 of 11 for 142 yards and two touchdowns but battled accuracy issues against Stephen F Austin completing 47.8%.
Clemson is 1-1 after their 3-12 home win to FCS Furman on four days rest after beating Georgia Tech 41-10 on Labor Day Monday. They put up 378 yards on Georgia Tech and 376 on Furman with the ground game producing only 3.9 yards a carry.
Quarterback DJ Uiagalelei is completing 67.8% of his passes for an improved 7.5 yards per pass attempt with three touchdowns and an interception. Tigers defense holding opponents to just 3.1 yards per rush and 5.6 per pass attempt.
Louisiana Tech defense allowing 5.4 yards per rush this season as Missouri gobbled up 323 rushing yards. A high spread but the 52 the Bulldogs allowed at Missouri the concern. Play Clemson -33.5.

San Diego St vs. Utah College Football Pick Prediction 9/17/2022
San Diego St at Utah—San Diego St improved to 1-1 with their 38-7 home win to FCS Idaho St gaining 488 yards. Aztecs opened at home to Arizona and lost 38-20 behind only 232 offensive yards giving up 461.
Virginia Tech transfer Braxton Burmeister only completing only 55.6% of his passes with 4.4 yards per pass attempt. He has rushed 18 times for 100 yards. Aztecs are rushing for 6.5 yards a carry. Utah improved to 1-1 with their 73-7 home win to FCS Southern Utah behind 602 yards.
Utes opened with a 29-26 road defeat at Florida allowing 440 yards with 284 on the ground on 38 carries. Utes quarterback Cameron Rising completed 69% of his passes with 216 yards with a touchdown and pick.
Aztecs beat the Utes last year at home 33-31 in overtime but that was with Charlie Brewer at quarterback who gave way to Rising who passed for three touchdowns. Aztecs defense and run game keep them in this one. Play San Diego St +21.
Miami vs. Texas A&M College Football Pick Prediction 9/17/2022
Miami at Texas A&M—Miami is 2-0 on the season with their 30-7 home win to Southern Miss. Hurricanes moved the football for 445 yards with 177 rushing on 47 carries.
Quarterback Tyler Van Dyke is completing 73.3% of his throws with 9.9 yards per pass attempt. They did limit Southern Miss to 231 yards with only 24 on 23 carries on the ground. They opened with a 70-13 home win to Bethune Cookman behind 605 yards.
Texas A&M fell to 1-1 after their 17-14 home defeat to Appalachian St gaining only 186 yards. The run game generated only 89 yards on 18 carries. Starting quarterback Haynes King is benched. Max Johnson will start at quarterback and completed 60.3% of his throws with 27 touchdowns and six picks with LSU in 2021.
Aggies defense a better fate as they held the Mountaineers to only 314 yards with only 181 rushing on 52 carries and 134 passing yards on 30 attempts.
Johnson with LSU last season did throw for 306 yards and three touchdowns on this Aggies defense, so he is a definite upgrade here. Play Miami and Texas A&M over 44.5.
Fresno St vs. USC College Football Pick Prediction 9/17/2022
Fresno St at USC—Fresno St fell to 1-1 after their 35-32 home defeat to Oregon St. They lose on a two yard rush for a touchdown by Oregon St as time expired. Bulldogs were able to pile up 492 yards on the Beavers defense but only 132 rushing on 29 carries.
NFL prospect at quarterback for Fresno St is Jake Haener went 29 of 45 for 360 yards and a touchdown for 8 yards per pass attempt. Defensively they did allow 398 yards to Oregon St with 179 rushing on 36 carries. Oregon St threw for 219 yards on 27 attempts.
USC improved to 2-0 after their 41-28 road win at Stanford. Back to back games with over 500 yards of offense. USC built the 35-14 lead at the half and scored only six points in the second half. Trojans run game generated 164 yards on 36 carries. Quarterback Caleb Williams hit on 20 of 27 for 341 yards and four touchdowns.
But USC did allow 441 yards to the Cardinal with 221 rushing on 45 carries. Trojans defense did force four turnovers. Both offenses piling up over 500 yards a game with NFL prospects at quarterback. USC defense still in question as Stanford not strong offensively. Play Fresno St +12.
Eastern Michigan vs. Arizona St College Football Pick Prediction 9/17/2022
Eastern Michigan at Arizona St—Eastern Michigan falls to 1-1 after their 49-21 road defeat at Louisiana. Eagles blew a 14-0 halftime lead. Eastern Michigan gained 363 yards rushing for only 43 on 23 carries. Missouri and Troy transfer Taylor Powell did go 32 of 51 for 320 yards with a touchdown but three picks.
Interceptions have been an issue for Powell in his two previous stops. Eastern Michigan did allow 454 yards on Louisiana with 310 passing yards on 34 attempts. Ragin Cajuns did run for over four yards a carry. Arizona St fell to 1-1 after their 34-17 road defeat at Oklahoma St.
Sun Devils got within 20-17 early in the fourth quarter but surrendered fourteen unanswered points the rest of the way. ASU gained 364 yards with 131 on 37 carries. Florida transfer quarterback Emory Jones went only 12 of 24 for 223 yards and a touchdown.
Defensively the Sun Devils allowed 465 yards to the Cowboys with four yards a carry on the ground and 268 passing on 38 attempts. Back to back road spot for Eastern Michigan. Both teams have conference openers next week and Arizona St hosts Utah.
ASU defense has played well and Jones accuracy an issue. Arizona St will play the ball control game and try and limit defensive plays with Utah up next week. Play Eastern Michigan and Arizona St under 57.
