For at least one week, the answer to the question of how the Chiefs‘ offense would function without Tyreek Hill was unambiguously positive.

After a quarter and a half of play, the game wasn’t particularly competitive until Kansas City entered Arizona and pounded the Cardinals 44-21.

Mahomes demonstrated on Sunday that he is among the league’s top quarterbacks by completing 30 of 39 passes for 360 yards and five touchdowns.

Travis Kelce continued to be his top pass-catching threat, hauling in eight passes for 121 yards and a touchdown reception, but Mahomes spread the wealth by connecting with nine different receivers during the course of the contest.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire caught two touchdown passes for the team, and youngster Isiah Pacheco and veteran Jerick McKinnon combined for 84 running yards and a touchdown on 16 carries.

Their defense, which included three rookie starters, was also excellent. They limited Kyler Murray to only 193 yards passing on 34 attempts, despite the fact that the figures weren’t jaw-dropping. No running back for the Cards ever went over 30 yards.
