Georgia vs. South Carolina College Football Pick Prediction 9/17/2022
Georgia at South Carolina—Georgia is 2-0 after their 33-0 home win to FCS Samford. They did open the season against Oregon winning 49-3 behind 571 yards of offense. Bulldogs moving the football for 525 yards and holding teams to 220. Quarterback Stetson Bennett has been accurate hitting on 75.4% of his throws with 10.3 yards per pass attempt. Running back Kendall Milton is running for 7.5 yards per pass attempt. South Carolina fell to 1-1 with their 44-30 road defeat at Arkansas. Game got away from the Gamecocks in the fourth quarter giving up the first fourteen points falling behind by 19. They struggled defending the Razorbacks run game giving up 300 yards on 64 carries. Spencer Rattler did throw for 376 yards hitting on 24 of 39 but the run game generated only 40 yards on 29 carries. Rattler was impressive in his road outing at Arkansas. Georgia did get past South Carolina by 27 at home last season giving up 214 passing yards to the Gamecocks. But in 2022 the Gamecocks quarterback is a major upgrade. Play South Carolina +24.5.
Texas St vs. Baylor College Football Pick Prediction 9/17/2022
Texas St at Baylor—Texas St is 1-1 after their 41-12 home win to a rebuilding FIU team. They did open the season beating a rebuilding Nevada team on the road 38-14 behind 277 yards. Layne Hatcher hit on 15 of 30 for 226 yards with three touchdowns and a pick. Running back Calvin Hill on 37 carries this season running for 5.5 yards per carry. Pass protection is an issue for the Bobcats giving up an average of three per game and averaging three turnovers. The sack yardage is making their run game look bad. Bobcats defensively is giving up 293 yards a game on defense with three yards per rush attempt. Quarterback Layne Hatcher is completing 59.8% of his throws for 6.3 yards per pass attempt with five touchdowns and three picks. Baylor is 1-1 coming off the 26-20 road defeat at BYU. The offense struggled in this road game for 291 yards. Bears struggled with offense running for 154 yards on 50 carries. A poor showing for quarterback Blake Shapen who went 18 of 28 for 137 yards and a touchdown. Bears were penalized 14 times for 117 yards. Baylor defense held the Cougars to just 83 rushing yards on 33 carries but 283 yards in the passing game. Bobcats are inexperienced on the defensive line and will struggle scoring and defending Baylor here. Bears have covered six straight when allowed 14 or fewer points the past two seasons. Connecticut vs. Michigan College Football Pick Prediction 9/17/2022
Connecticut at Michigan—Connecticut is 1-2 with their 48-14 home defeat to Syracuse. Huskies have lost both games against the FBS and has a win to an FCS team. UCONN posted only 202 yards in the loss. Defensively the Huskies gave up 465 yards on the Orange. Good news for the Huskies is they contained the run game allowing 156 yards on 51 carries. Quarterback Zion Turner is hitting on 57.1% with only 5.3 yards per attempt and four touchdowns along with three picks. Michigan got past Hawaii 56-10. They rolled up 588 yards on a rebuilding Hawaii team. They blew out Colorado St at home in the opener 51-7. JJ McCarthy in his first start hit on 11 of 12 for 229 yards and three touchdowns. Michigan built a 42-0 lead at the half against a bad Hawaii team then outscore the Warriors only 14-10 in the second half. Connecticut has show improvement especially with their run defense. Purdue vs. Syracuse College Football Pick Prediction 9/17/2022
Purdue at Syracuse—Purdue is 1-1 with their 56-0 home win to FCS Indiana St. They opened their season losing at home to Penn St 35-31 despite gaining 426 yards but allowing a late long touchdown drive by Penn St in defeat. Quarterback Aiden O’Connell his hitting 60.3% with five touchdowns and no picks with five touchdowns along with no picks. Syracuse is 2-0 with their 48-14 road win at UCONN behind 465 yards. Orange held the Huskies to just 202 yards. They opened at home to Louisville and win 31-7. Quarterback Garrett Shrader after a bad showing in 2021 has improved hitting on 79.2% of his throws with five touchdowns and no picks averaging 10.9 yards per pass attempt. He is a run threat and has three rushing touchdowns on 119 yards. These are two offenses getting good quarterback work and putting up points. Purdue defense the concern in their loss at home to Penn St. Play Purdue and Syracuse over 58.5.
Cincinnati vs. Miami Ohio College Football Pick Prediction 9/17/2022
Cincinnati vs. Miami Ohio—This is played on a neutral field. Cincinnati is 1-1 following their 63-10 home win to FCS Kennesaw St. They opened their season on the road to an improved Arkansas team and lost 31-24 behind 438 yards. They were able to throw on the Razorbacks for 325 yards. Eastern Michigan transfer Ben Bryant is completing 68.3% ohs throws with five touchdowns, 1 pick and 8.3yards per pass attempt. Miami Ohio improves to 1-1 with the 31-14 home win to FCS Robert Morris failing to cover. Red Hawks opened at Kentucky losing 37-13. Starting quarterback Blaine Gabbert is out for a while so backup Aveon Smith a freshman has a tough test. Bearcats showed good ability throwing at Cincinnati and a freshman starting here for Miami Ohio a concern. Play Cincinnati -20.5.

Oklahoma at Nebraska—Oklahoma improved to 2-0 with their 33-3 home win to Kent. They opened with UTEP and win 45-13. Despite facing weak competition the Sooners have been held to under 500 yards in each game. Good news is defense is holding opponents to an average of 8 points per game. UCF transfer Dillon Gabriel hitting on 70.6% of his passes with five touchdowns and no picks with 10.4 yards per attempt. The run game is generating 5.3 yards per carry against weak opponents. Sooners are stopping the run on defense and holding foes to 5.8 yards per pass attempt. Nebraska is 1-2 after their 45-42 home defeat to Georgia Southern. Head coach Scott Frost fired after the loss. They also have a neutral site loss to Northwestern giving up 402 yards. Cornhuskers defense did allow 632 yards to Georgia Southern with 409 passing and 233 on the ground for nearly eight yards per carry. Nebraska defense the concern regardless of the coaching change. Brent Venables showing some good signs with this Sooners defense. Play Oklahoma -13.

Western Kentucky at Indiana—Western Kentucky is 2-0 after their 49-17 win at a rebuilding Hawaii team. They opened the season winning but not covering as a -32.5 favorite at home to Austin Peay 38-27. The run game for the Hilltoppers generating only 4.1 yards per carry against weak competition. Third down conversions of 28.6% very concerning based on the competition. Quarterback Austin Reed hitting on 64.1% of his throws with seven touchdowns and two picks averaging 8.5 yards per pass attempt. They have only outgained their opponents by 50 yards. Indiana is 2-0 with their 35-22 home win to FCS Idaho. They got past Illinois by three in their opener. Missouri transfer Connor Bazelak has not been accurate completing 54.3% of his passes with three touchdowns and two picks. Only 6.5 yards per pass attempt. Hoosiers running for 4.5 yards a carry. They have defended the run well. Strength of competition weak for the Hilltoppers and third down the concern since the run game has not been good. Play Indiana -6.5.

Buffalo at Coastal Carolina—Buffalo falls to 0-2 with the home 37-31 defeat to FCS Holy Cross. Bulls defense allowed 457 yards to their FCS opponent with 219 yards on 45 carries. Buffalo run defense giving up 5.2 yards a carry this season and opponents averaging 9.4 yards per pass attempt. Bulls quarterback Cole Snyder completing 59.4% of his passes with 6.7 yards per rush and a run threat. Coastal Carolina moves to 2-0 with their 31-27 home win to FCS Gardner Webb. They opened with a 38-28 home win to Army. In the win to Gardner Webb the Chanticleers moved the football for only 354 yards and rushed for 46 yards. Quarterback Grayson McCall is completing 72.3% of his passes with 10.3 yards per pass attempt. He has thrown for six touchdowns and a pick. Bulls defense the concern against an experienced and accurate quarterback like McCall. Play Coastal Carolina -14.5.

Rutgers at Temple—Rutgers moves to 2-0 with their 66-7 home win to FCS Wagner. They opened their season with the 22-21 road win at Boston College behind 322 yards. Temple moves to 1-1 with their 30-14 home win to FCS Lafayette. They were shutout at Duke in their opener behind 0nly 179 yards. Owls quarterback D’Wan Mathis completing only 48.3% of his throws with a poor 4.3 yards per pass attempt. Temple is averaging only 3.1 yards per rush. They will struggle offensively here and with the Scarlet Knights run heavy will cause a low scoring game. Play Rutgers and Temple under 44.5.
