Washington St vs. Wisconsin College Football Pick Prediction 9/10/2022
Washington St at Wisconsin—Washington St opened with FCS Idaho and came away with the 24-17 home win. Cougars are an inexperienced offensive team returning four starters on offense.
Defense returns six starters. Incarnate Word transfer Cameron Ward is at quarterback for the transferring Jayden de Lara. Ward went 25 of 40 for 215 yards and three touchdowns against the Vandals.
Jake Dickert a first year head coach after serving as an in season interim coach starting the season as a defensive coordinator. The front seven experienced but the team lacks experience in the secondary.
Washington St defended the run well in the opener and allowed 212 passing on 21 of 32 attempts. They held opponents last year to 24 points and 373 yards per game. Wisconsin opened with FCS Illinois St and win 38-0. They piled up 440 yards with balance offensive approach.
Paul Chryst is in his eighth season at the school. Graham Hertz completed 15 of 16 for 219 yards and a touchdown. Offense is inexperienced returning five on offense. Three return on the offensive line with their running back. That leaves new starters at receivers.
Badgers return only three on a defense that was number one in the nation allowing 240 yards per game. Wisconsin with an underperforming quarterback will still be a run heavy team.

Memphis vs. Navy College Football Pick Prediction 9/10/2022
Memphis at Navy—Memphis is 0-1 with their 49-23 road defeat to Mississippi St. Tigers fell behind 28-3 at the half. They gained only 294 yards with quarterback Seth Henigan completing only 19 of 30 passes for 165 yards and a touchdown. Team converted only 25% on third down.
Memphis had trouble containing the Mississippi St passing attack allowing 450 yards on 38 of 49 completions and five touchdowns. This was a defense in 2021 that sat 126th on third down and surrendered 429 yards.
Third down defense was an issue in defeat to Mississippi St. Memphis struggled in pass defense last season allowing 64% completions for 257 yards. Navy is 0-1 with their 14-7 home defeat to FCS Delaware. Offense sputtered in the opener for the Midshipmen with 319 yards with 184 on the ground on 63 carries averaging just 2.9 yards per rush.
Navy did contain the Delaware defense surrendering 202 yards and only 13 rushes on 29 carries. Midshipmen returns five on offense and six to the defense.
Tigers lost their final four road games last season. Will back on the Midshipmen defense to keep Navy in this game. Play Navy +6.5.
Maryland vs. Charlotte College Football Pick Prediction 9/10/2022
Maryland at Charlotte—Maryland comes off the 31-10 home win to Buffalo in their opener. Terrapins moved the football for 446 yards with 149 rushing. Taulia Tagovailoa hit on 24 of 34 passes for 290 yards with an interception. Maryland held the Terrapins to 268 yards with 108 rushing for 3 yards a carry.
Charlotte falls to 0-2 with their 41-24 home defeat to FCS Williams & Mary. 49ers surrendered 559 yards to the Tribe in defense with 303 rushing and 256 yards through the air. Charlotte does return eight starters on offense. Quarterback Chris Reynolds sat out the loss to William & Mary.
Charlotte’s defense has been torched in their first two games giving up an average of 520 yards with 260 rushing and passing. Maryland has the offense to exploit these bad defenses in the mid majors. Play Maryland and Charlotte over 65.5.
UNLV vs. California College Football Pick Prediction 9/10/2022
UNLV at California—UNLV is 1-0 after their 52-21 home win to FCS Idaho St two weeks ago. It was a good showing by the offense producing 554 yards.
Quarterback Doug Brumfield hit on 21 of 25 passes for 356 yards and four touchdowns. Their run game generated 149 yards on 33 carries. Six return on offense and six to the defense for the Rebels. Receiving corps a strength for this team. California is 1-0 with their 34-13 home win to FCS UC Davis.
Golden Bears produced 415 yards with 147 rushing. Quarterback Jack Plummer hit on 23 of 35 for 268 yards with three touchdowns and a pick. Defensively the Golden Bears allowed the Aggies 387 yards with 242 passing on 32 of 50 attempts picking off two.
This is an inexperienced California team returning three on offense and five to the defense. UNLV improvement will be enough to cover against this rebuilding California team. Play UNLV +13.

Houston vs. Texas Tech College Football Pick Prediction 9/10/2022
Houston at Texas Tech—Houston is 1-0 after their 37-35 road overtime win at UTSA. Cougars rallied from 14 points down in the fourth quarter to force the overtime. Their offense generated 346 yards. Veteran quarterback Clayton Tune hit on 22 of 32 for 206 yards and three touchdowns.
Defensively Houston surrendered 441 yards to the Roadrunners offense with 337 in the passing game. Two first year starters sit at each corner spot. Eleven penalties and four sacks led to too many negative yards. They ran for only 3.2 yards per carry.
Houston returns seven starters on offense and six to the defense. The offensive line has only two starters back. Texas Tech is 1-0 after their 63-10 home win to FCS Murray St behind 605 yards of offense. Texas Tech head coach Joey McGuire is in his first season as head coach returning six starters on offense and defense.
Taking over as offensive coordinator is Zach Kittley who had a pass happy offensive style with Western Kentucky sitting second in the nation in attempted passes. Donovan Smith got the call at quarterback and completed 14 of 16 for 221 yards and four touchdowns against their FCS opponent.
Texas Tech was poor on defense in 2021 sitting 122nd on third down and giving up 408 yards a game. Teams completed 66.2% of their passes on the Red Raiders for 261 yards and 7.9 yards per attempt.
Dana Holgorsen built a good defensive culture at Houston and prefer this side until the Red Raiders can show better defensively. Play Houston +3.
Iowa St vs. Iowa College Football Pick Prediction 9/10/2022
Iowa St at Iowa—Iowa St is 1-0 after their 42-10 home win to FCS Southeast Missouri St behind 469 yards of offense. Head coach Matt Campbell is in his seventh season but lacking experience. Five starters return on offense with only three to the defense.
Lots of skill exit on offense including quarterback, running back and tight end. Six of their top eight tacklers exit the program. Hunter Dekkers won the quarterback battle coming off a good showing against his FCS opponent. He saw limited action in four games last season.
Iowa comes off the 7-3 home win to FCS South Dakota St behind only 166 yards of offense. Hawkeyes defense showed up holding the Jackrabbits to 120 yards and recording two fourth quarter safety’s to break a 3-3 tie.
Sam Petras had a poor showing hitting on 11 of 25 for 109 yards. Iowa has been a strong defensive team for some time. Last year holding opponents to 19.2 points and 329 yards sitting 13th in the nation in both categories.
Under has come in 12-3-1 in their past sixteen meetings and the past seven in Iowa. Looks like another struggle for points from each team here. Play Iowa and Iowa St under 40.5.
Akron vs. Michigan St College Football Pick Prediction 9/10/2022
Akron at Michigan St—Akron is 1-0 after their 30-23 home win to FCS St Francis. Zips gained 384 yards in the win. Joe Moorhead is in his first season with the Zips with eight starters back on offense and defense. They were a 2-10 team last year.
DJ Irons was under center in the opener hitting 23 of 38 for 270 yards. The entire offensive line returns from a Zips team that averaged 18.5 points and 326 yards a game. Team ran for only 3.2 yards per carry. The defense was 126th in the nation in points allowed giving up 42 a game along with 498 yards a game.
Michigan St comes off the 35-13 home win to Western Michigan. Spartans moved the football for 430 yards running for 197 yards. Payton Thorne went 12 of 24 for 233 yards with four touchdowns and a pick.
The defense returned nine starters. There is a big talent difference here. Zips will have trouble getting points on the Spartans defense Play Michigan St -34.
Middle Tennessee St vs. Colorado St College Football Pick Prediction 9/10/2022
Middle Tennessee St at Colorado St—Middle Tennessee St is 0-1 after their 44-7 road defeat at James Madison. Blue Raiders a poor offensive performance with 119 yards with 12 rushing on 28 carries. Head coach Rick Stockstill is in his 17th year with the team with five starters back on offense and six on defense.
Chase Cunningham returned under center and hit 18 of 32 for only 110 yards and a touchdown. Blue Raiders had struggles on offense last year on third down, 4.9 yards per play and only 6.5 yards per pass attempt. Middle Tennessee St held opponents to 26.6 points a game.
Blue Raiders gave up 548 yards to James Madison with 261 rushing and 287 through the air. Colorado St falls to 0-1 with their 51-7 road defeat at Michigan. Rams gained only 219 yards in defeat. Two starters returned to the offensive line and the Rams have their playmakers back.
Red shirt freshman Clay Miller went 16 of 20 for 137 yards with a touchdown and pick. Rams are inexperienced on the defensive line with only one starter back. Inexperience on both lines for Colorado St will look to underdog here. Play Middle Tennessee St +11.
