Nebraska vs. Northwestern College Football Pick Prediction 8/27/2022
Nebraska vs. Northwestern—Nebraska pounded an inexperienced Northwestern team last year 56-7 at home. They compiled 657 yards with 427 rushing. Cornhuskers return 12 of their starters.
Texas transfer Casey Thompson will be under center for Nebraska with Adrian Martinez exiting the program. Team is experienced in the backfield and right side of the offensive line. Nebraska inexperienced in the secondary. This was a good defensive unit last year that held opponents to 22.7 points a game.
It was a rebuilding year for Northwestern last year and finished at 3-9. This year the Wildcats return fourteen starts with nine on offense and only five to the defense. Northwestern averaged 15.9 points a game last season and were 91st in scoring defense by surrendering 31.1 points a game.
Ryan Hilinski transfers in from South Carolina to line up under center. Cornhuskers should be able to move the football effectively on the Wildcats. Northwestern 7-41 to the spread when outgained by 200 or greater yards. Can see Nebraska having their way on the line of scrimmage. Play Nebraska -11.5.
Connecticut vs. Utah St College Football Pick Prediction 8/27/2022
Connecticut vs. Utah St—Jim Mora Jr. enters his first season with this program. This was a 1-11 program last year. They sat 128th in scoring offense averaging 13.8 points and game and 124th in scoring defense surrendering nearly 41.
Huskies have not beaten an FBS school in three seasons. They will have fifteen starters back from last season. They have had two wins or fewer in five straight seasons. Huskies do return their leading rusher and playmakers in the wide receiver position. A Penn St transfer expected to start at quarterback.
Utah St returns twelve starters from last season but suffered heavy losses from productive players. Aggies used the transfer porter to turn around their program last season. Logan Bonner returns under center from their 11 win team and Mountain West conference championship last year. They did win their bowl game.
Aggies 8-1 against the spread when they score 28 or more points per game the past three seasons. Huskies 12-35 to the spread when outgained by 200 or greater yards. Too much to fix for Mora Jr. with this program. Play Utah St –26.5.
Wyoming vs. Illinois College Football Pick Prediction 8/27/2022
Wyoming at Illinois—This is an inexperienced Wyoming team returning eight starters from last year with four on each side of the ball. They finished 7-6 last season winning their bowl game.
Defensive led this team holding opponents to 24.3 points a game and defended the pass well. They do lose both starting quarterback from last year and looking at a first year starter at quarterback in Utah State transfer Andrew Peasley. He has had two starts but completed only 53.8% of his throws during his tenure with the Aggies.
Wyoming has been a strong rushing program the past three seasons but losing their top running back. Illinois head coach Bret Bielema built a strong rushing attack in his time with Wisconsin. They do return their top three running backs from last season. Seven starters return on offense and five to the defense.
A Bielema offensive line will be too powerful for an inexperienced Wyoming defensive line here. Cowboys inexperience at quarterback and lack of accuracy an issue here
. Also, three of their top four rushers have exited Wyoming. Illinois has played to under in eight of ten. Cowboys will have trouble scoring here and Illinois rushing attack will run clock. Play Wyoming and Illinois under 44.
Charlotte vs. FAU College Football Pick Prediction 8/27/2022
Charlotte at FAU—Florida Atlantic finished at 5-7 and returns fourteen starters from last season including eight on offense. Returning is Miami transfer at quarterback in N’Kosi Perry, his starting running back and many playmakers.
Charlotte also finished 5-7 with fourteen starters back including their starting quarterback. 49ers defense struggled last year surrendering 34 points and 465 yards per game.
Charlotte struggled in their road games in 2021 losing five of six by ten or greater points. 49ers have failed to cover five of six in conference. Team ran for the football for 203 yards and 5.5 yards per carry on the 49ers a season ago. Owls beat the 49ers on the road last year 38-9 as they gained 427 yards. Play FAU -7.

North Texas vs. UTEP College Football Pick Prediction 8/27/2022
North Texas at UTEP—The Miners were a surprise team last year finishing at 7-6 but losing their bowl game to Fresno St. This will be an experienced team returning fifteen starters from last year including quarterback Gavin Hardison and his senior running back.
The defensive is experienced in the front seven. Their only home loss in 2021 came to UTSA. North Texas finished at 6-7 after losing the Frisco Classic bowl game. Mean Green experience on offense returning eight starters. Austin Aune is not an accurate quarterback completing only 51% of his throws but is a threat to run.
The strength for this Mean Green offense in a run game that generated 234 yards a game with 4.8 yards per rush. North Texas rallied to win their final five regular season games to become bowl eligible including three on the road. Mean Green was a good spread team.
North Texas was able to move the football for 423 yards on the Miners in their win last season. Mean Green has won five straight against UTEP. Play North Texas -1.5.
Nevada vs. New Mexico St College Football Pick Prediction 8/27/2022
Nevada at New Mexico St—Nevada finished at 8-5 last year but return only six starters from last season. Their senior running back returns and senior right tackle and those are the two starters back on offense. Wolf Pack run game struggled averaging 3.0 yards per rush.
New Mexico St returns thirteen starters from last season with nine on defense. Defensive minded Jerry Kill is in his first year as head coach.
Only four starters back on offense for the Aggies. Kill likes to run and defend and I expect that is what we see here. A low scoring game between two inexperienced offenses. Play Nevada and New Mexico St under 48.
Vanderbilt vs. Hawaii College Football Pick Prediction 8/27/2022
Vanderbilt at Hawaii—Vanderbilt suffered through a 2-10 season in 2021. The team does return fourteen starters back from last season including their quarterback and four on the offensive line. The front seven for the Commodores are experienced.
They did pick up a win at Colorado St and were competitive at South Carolina and home to Missouri. Hawaii finished 6-7 and was bowl eligible but the Hawaii Bowl was cancelled. Timmy Chang takes over at head coach for a program that is in disarray.
Four starters return on offense and two on defense as several key performers transferred over treatment by the previous head coach. Offensive and defensive lines of an SEC team will overpower these rebuilt lines for Hawaii.
Also, SEC speed will disrupt the run and shoot offensive implemented by Chang with his inexperienced ground. Play Vanderbilt -9.
