Cleveland had a turbulent offseason, both because of personnel decisions that alienated their fan base and because of players wishing to leave the city.

Deshaun Watson was acquired by the Browns through a trade, and after signing a five-year, $230 million contract with full guarantees, he was given a six-game suspension, which the NFL argued wasn’t long enough.

There was a lot going on before the first preseason game because Kareem Hunt requested a trade, which the team denied.

In his first game since the 2020 campaign, Watson was given the ball and, as was expected, struggled in the match. For the entire game, he only completed one out of five attempts.

Depending on what happens with Watson, Jacoby Brissett may be the #1A/2 QB option, therefore Josh Dobbs (10 of 13, 108 yards, TD) and Josh Rosen (6 of 7, 56 yards) are likely vying for the #3 place on the depth chart.
