There was a point during the current campaign when it seemed unlikely that the Braves would be able to successfully defend the World Series championship they won by defeating the Astros in 2021.

In the summer, the Braves are still very much in contention for a second consecutive championship and will relish the chance to compare themselves to the formidable Astros this weekend.

The Braves are returning from a difficult four-game set against the NL East-leading Mets, just like Houston did. Before losing game three 9-7, the Braves swept the first two matches of the series.

Wright is penciled in to start in this position rather than being written in ink because he complained of shoulder fatigue during his most recent start on August 10th.
