On the Lions side Jared Goff will get the start at quarterback. Tim Boyle and David Blough back up. Each have NFL playing experience. Prefer the Lions experience at quarterback and defense. Play Detroit at a pick.
Cleveland Browns vs. Jacksonville Jaguars NFL Pick Prediction 8/12/2022
Browns at Jaguars—Jacksonville has a game under their belt in the preseason as they lose 27-11 to Las Vegas. Their defense gave up 321 yards to the Raiders with 159 yards rushing and 4.8 yards per rush. They did sit their starts but will play all starters a couple of series in this game.
Trevor Lawrence is under center for Jacksonville. He will be backup by C.J. Beathard and Jake Luton. They do have running back James Robinson banged up and two wide outs.
DeShaun Watson will start the preseason opener for the Browns as will most of their starters. In backup roles for Cleveland will be Jacoby Brissett, Joshua Dobbs and Josh Rosen. Prefer the Browns rotation in this one. Play Cleveland -1.5.
New York Jets vs. Philadelphia Eagles NFL Pick Prediction 8/12/2022
Jets at Eagles—Philadelphia will play starters in their preseason openers but won’t play much. Jets may match Philadelphia as they will go with starters for one to two series.
Behind Jalen Hurts for Philadelphia are Gardner Minshew, Reid Sinnett and Carson Strong. Minshew has starter experience in the regular season. Sinnett is a second year camp player and Strong is a rookie out of Nevada. Zach Wilson is the starting quarterback for New York.
Backing up Wilson are Joe Flacco, Mike White and Chris Steveler. Both Flacco and White have NFL regular season experience. Steveler saw limited action during the regular season while with Arizona.
Jets quarterback situation a bit more experienced than the Eagles. They go with Wilson, Flacco and White in the opener. All with NFL experience. Play NY Jets +1.

Packers at 49ers—Green Bay will sit most starters in their preseason opener. Jordan Love starts at quarterback. Danny Etling will serve as his backup. Etling has no NFL regular season experience.
Love saw some action as Aaron Rodgers backup last season. San Francisco plays their three preseason games in a 13 day period. Likely starters sit in the first game, play the second and sit the third game as it was outlined by the media covering the team.
Though Trey Lance expected to see some action on Friday. Nate Sudfeld and Brock Purdy expected to see action under center for the 49ers.
