In his previous two outings, Walker performed admirably, giving up only two runs across 12 innings, eight hits, and 19 strikeouts.

His season average of under 7K/9 was greatly exceeded by the 19 strikeouts.

New York Mets vs Miami Marlins Predictions 6/24/2022

With this series against the Mets, who are in first place, the Marlins resume their homestand. Prior to coming home for another four-game series against the Colorado Rockies, the Marlins lost three of their past four matches in New York.

The Marlins will play their eighth of 11 consecutive matches on Friday night. The Marlins defeated the Rockies 3-2 on Thursday afternoon at home courtesy of some outstanding bullpen pitching after starter Braxton Garrett was taken out after 4.2 innings after allowing 9 hits and 94 pitches.

Sandy Alcantara is Miami’s go-to player this Friday night. For Miami this year, he was exceptional, leading the club in quality appearances, victories, wins, ERA, strikeouts, and an incredible 4.3 WAR. In his past three outings, he averaged over 8 innings and gave up just 18 hits while striking out 19 hitters for a total of 4 runs allowed.

New York Mets vs Miami Marlins. The MLB pick for this game is the Miami Marlins. Given how terrific Alcantara was lately, it’s difficult to wager against the Mets or even Walker. He has 11 quality appearances out of 14 total, the third-lowest ERA in MLB, and is nearly certain to bring the club at least as far as the eighth inning.

In the Marlins’ lone victory in the series last weekend against the Mets, he shut out the Amazins over eight innings while allowing six hits and two runs. He is the epitome of a stopper and will definitely be expected to lead the Marlins to victory in the first game of the series.

Walker will have tremendous pressure to limit the Marlins to two runs or less in order to give his team a chance. Walker recently pitched effectively, but he lacks Alcantara’s ++stuff.

With a.262 home batting average, the Marlins are a far superior hitting club at home than on the road. The Marlins will win to a predicted score of 4-2.
