After a few significant offseason signings, a youthful Tigers club wanted to make some progress this year, but things didn’t go as planned, as they dropped another series by dropping the rubber game to the Dodgers on Sunday.

After Los Angeles scored the game’s opening six runs, Detroit at least made the final score more acceptable with a Miguel Cabrera solo home run in the eighth inning, followed by a Jeimer Candelario home run an inning later.

Eduardo Rodriguez labored once more, surrendering six runs (four earned) on eight hits in 5.2 innings while striking out five batters. Tucker Barnhart had the Tigers’ lone multi-hit game, with a double, a walk, and a run scored.
