Vegas at Dallas NHL Pick Prediction 4/26/2022
Overview: Ouch! My 5-team parlay went down when San Jose scored with less than a second remaining, then scored in overtime to take out Vegas.
And I mean “take out.”
Even with a regulation win here, the Go’Knights will still be one point behind the Stars — but look at the remaining schedule.
Vegas had roadies at Chicago and St, Louis Dallas stars at home to meet– Ugh! — Anaheim and Arizona.
Funny things have happened before, but…
Vegas played well with the return of Willam Carrier, and rookie Jordan Thompson in goal, but too many turnovers doomed the Go’Knights.
Prediction: Vegas may not be mathematically done, but at estimated odds of (VGK, +120, 1120, +130: DAL, -140, -300, -300) around 33-1, no VGK fans should be holding their breath,,, STARS.
Florida at Boston NHL Pick Prediction 4/26/2022
Overview: The Panthers are resting players as President’s Cup champions after Colorado made it clear they are no longer interested in the hardware. The Avs are resting players and have lost four straight — and they don’t care.
Meanwhile, with a possibility that the Bruins could grace Florida in the playoffs if they remain in the wild card position, the Beeswant to send a message that == win or lose in this situation — they won’t be “two-and-barbecue: (like they say in NBC Baseball.)
Prediction: Florida has nothing to play for. Boston does and they’re paying at home. Take the… BRUINS.
St. Louis at Colorado NHL Pick Prediction 4/26/2022
Blues: One of a quartet of teams dominating over the final three weeks of the season — and it doesn’t matter the opponent.
Avalanche: Like Pittsburgh, the Avs are resting players to prepare for a long string of postseason games. There are also some potentially keys injuries in: Gabriel Landeskog, Erik Johnson and Ryan Murray.
Prediction: Colorado can score, but St. Louis is filling the net. The lean is on the BLUES, but there may be better value on the OVER.
Carolina at NY Rangers NHL Pick Prediction 4/26/2022
Overview: Thanks to one of our readers for making an important correction. National League officials have changed the tie-breaker, with Win In Regulation now being the first tie-breaker over the ROW (regulation and Overtime Wins) number.
That means Carolina has the advantage should the clubs finish dead-locked. In fact, a Hurricanes win here could clinch the Metro Division title on MSG ice — the Blue Shirts definitely want to avoid that scenario.
Plus, both Canes goalies — Frederik Andersen and former NYR Antti Raanta — are both hurt, although rookie Pyotr Kochetkov (2-0-0) looked good in his first NHL start over the weekend.
Prediction: Neither franchise holds a slew of division banners in the rafters of their respective rink, but the RANGER’S care even more to make sure Carolina doesn’t do it in their building. RANGERS at near pick’em.
NY Islanders at Washington NHL Pick Prediction 4/26/2022
Isles: Long Island has nothing to play for except pride, so the last two weeks have been particularly pathetic. The Islanders are 1-5-1 SU in L7 (1-6 ATS) entering the first of a home-and-home with the Caps.
Capitals: D.C. leads the season series 2-0, but there are problems in the wings. Olex Ovecnhkin, in his first game after achieving his 50th goal of the season, is listed as “questionable” after leaving the last Caps game with an injury.
Prediction: D.C. needs a win to avoid the second wild card spot and a postseason date with Florida, but the absence of Ovechkin makes this game unplayable. PASS.
Edmonton at Pittsburgh NHL Pick Prediction 4/26/2022
Overview: Edmonton has a lot of nagging injuries and may not play their complement of players to save them for the playoffs. Pittsburgh has been doing that for two weeks, but might believe they need the points to avoid Washington from passing them for third place.
Prediction: The result means considerably more to the PENGUINS.

Seattle at Vancouver NHL Pick Prediction 4/26/2022
Kraken: I don’t care if Seattle is in last place! For proof, here is some basic analytics: The Kraken are 9-9-0 SU & ATS in L18 — can you believe it?
Canucks: In the preview of the Vegas game, we noted that the odds to make the postseason are around 30-1 or higher. For Vancouver since they rest behind VGK, are even higher — but they are not yet mathematically eliminated.
Prediction: And with such a young roster, the play is on the… CANUCKS.
Columbus at Tampa Bay NHL Pick Prediction 4/26/2022
Overview: The Blue Jackets are playing (almost) everyone tough down the stretch — a display of professional pride. Tampa Bay won’t latch Toronto for second, but they could fall to fourth — a must-avoid situation.
Prediction This is the Bolts’ final home game and the first of a hoke-and-home with the Blue J.’s, so if they only split, and the final game is at NY Rangers, they would rather avoid a must-win situation. The play is the… LIGHTNING (at -380), but since Columbus plays so well in the third period, a Puck Line play is NOT recommended. A better play would be a round-robin parlay with other heavy faves.
Arizona at Minnesota NHL Pick Prediction 4/26/2022
Overview: A non-playoff club playing against a team which needs a win to enhance its postseason future.
Prediction: Because favorites are dominating to close the season — including Saturday’s 9-team parlay when ALL NINE covered the Puck Line! — take all of the heavy favorites and place them into a round-robin parlay: Tampa Bay, Minnesota and Toronto.
Detroit at Toronto NHL Pick Prediction 4/26/2022
Overview: A non-playoff club playing against a team which needs a win to enhance its postseason future.
Prediction: Because favorites are dominating to close the season — including Saturday’s 9-team parlay when ALL NINE covered the Puck Line! — take all of the heavy favorites and place them into a round-robin parlay: Tampa Bay, Minnesota and the MAPLE LEAFS.
Anaheim at San Jose NHL Pick Prediction 4/26/2022
Sharks: They have “fielded” an NHL-high 17 players making their league debut. Included was right wing Adam Raska, who scored the only goal in the shootout in just his fifth game to upend Vegas from its playoff path.
Basically, the entire roster of the last-place San Jose (AHL) Barracuda has played for the varsity at one time or another this season.
Ducks: Ryan Getzlaf is done, receiving huge ovations for an 18-year career. He will not travel with the club to end the season on the road.
Prediction: With the victory in Vegas, the Sharks frog-leaped over the Ducks in the Pacific standings. They want to keep them there, despite the odds. Although we rarely wager on a pair of teams at this (horrible) level, we are suggesting a small play on the… SHARKS.
New Jersey at Ottawa NHL Pick Prediction 4/26/2022
Devils: Can you believe it? The Devils are 3-2-2 SU (3-4 ATS) in L7. However, they are 0-1-1 SU (0-2 ATS) against the Senators this season.
Senators: Another young team looking for contracts for next season. Want proof? The Sens are 5-1-1 Su (5-2 ATS) in L7, including three straight wins.
Prediction: Ottawa has two home games left, but, since the last game is with Florida, they will win this one… SENATORS.
Calgary at Nashville NHL Pick Prediction 4/26/2022
Flames: This is an alternate betting game. Look for Props as explained below.
Predators: Nashville is one point ahead of Dallas for the first wild card spot, which means a playoff meeting with Calgary and not Colorado.
Prediction: Nashville is motivated to send a message to Calgary that they will not roll over, so the side pick is the PREDATORS.
Prop play: Calgary’s Johnny Gaudreau has 39 goals, with two teammates — Matthew Tkachuk and Elias Lindholm — leading the club with 40 each. Johhny G. has a huge contract incentive if he also reaches 40.. and his teammates know it. Bet YES that Gaudreau will score at Even money.
