Chicago White Sox vs. Guardians MLB Pick Prediction 4/19/2022
White Sox at Guardians—Rain postponed the opener of this series on Monday. Just a single game scheduled on Tuesday and the Monday pitching matchups move a day later. Dallas Keuchel the starter for Chicago. The veteran posted a poor season in 2021 with an ERA 5.28 and WHIP 1.54. Keuchel saw his strikeout rate drop to 13.2% and 8.2% walk rate. His home runs jumped to 1.39 per 9 innings.
Cleveland goes with Shane Bieber. Great past three season for the righthander with an ERA of 3.28 and WHIP 1.11 in this period. His strikeout rate has ben over 30% in those three seasons and limited home runs. Two starts all on the road this year with Bieber allowing three earned runs over ten innings.
White Sox have won six of eight. Guardians come off dropping all three at home to San Francisco held to four runs total. White Sox hit .196 against righty’s and Guardians .218 against lefty’s. Play Chicago and Cleveland under eight in Game 1.
New York Yankees vs. Detroit Tigers MLB Pick Prediction 4/19/2022
Yankees at Tigers—Starting for New York will be Gerrit Cole. The righthander started 30 games for the Yankees in 2021 and finished with an ERA of 3.23 and WHIP 1.06. A strikeout rate of 33.5% coupled with a ground ball rate of 43.1% with good control. Cole saw his home run to flay ball rate drop to 1.19 per nine innings. A rocky start to 2022 for Cole as the righthander in two starts has allowed six earned runs with three homers over 9 2/3rd innings.
Tyler Alexander the starter for Detroit. The lefthander in 2021 finished with an ERA of 3.81 and WHIP 1.26. Alexander had a small dip to 19.3% strikeout rate with 1.35 home runs per nine innings.
Yankees dropped two of three at Baltimore over the weekend. Tigers win two of three at KC. New York hitting only .197 against lefty’s and Tigers .174 against righthanders. Both bullpens throwing well. Play Detroit +185.

Cardinals at Marlins—Adam Wainwright the starter for the Cards. The veteran tossed 206 1/3rd innings in 2021 posting an ERA of 3.05 and WHIP 1.06. Wainwright posted a 21% strikeout rate with good control and 47.5% ground ball rate. Two starts on the campaign the veteran has allowed a total of four earned runs in 10 1/3rd innings striking out thirteen.
Jesus Luzardo to throw for the Marlins. Lefty had a forgettable 2021 with an ERA of 6.61 and WHIP of 1.62. Walk rate of 11% and ground ball rate fell to 38.4% and strike 1.89 home runs per nine innings. Cardinals hitting .277 against lefty’s. Their bullpen has been outstanding with an ERA of 2.14. Toronto Blue Jays vs. Boston Red Sox MLB Pick Prediction 4/19/2022
Blue Jays at Red Sox—Yusei Kikuchi the starter for the Blue Jays. The lefty in his 29 starts with Seattle in 2021 has an ERA of 4.41 and WHIP 1.32. He struggled his last two seasons in Seattle with control but had a 24.5% strikeout rate. Kikuchi allowed 1.55 home runs per nine innings.
Nathan Eovaldi to throw for the Red Sox. The veteran started 32 games for Boston in 2021 posting an ERA of 3.75 and WHIP 1.19. Good strikeout rate of 25.5% and saw the ground balls go down to 42%. Eovaldi did limit homers. In two starts this season the righthander has allowed five earned runs with four homers in ten innings.

Rays at Cubs—Josh Fleming the primary pitcher for Tampa Bay in a bullpen game. The lefty had a poor 2021 posting an ERA of 5.09 and WHIP 1.35. Strikeout rate 14.5% with 55.7% ground ball rate. He did limit homers. Fleming in two outings allowed five runs three earned over 6 2/3rd innings. Justin Steele starts for Chicago.
In his rookie season in 2021 Steele had an ERA of 4.26 and WHIP 1.35 with nine starts and eleven under the bullpen. A strikeout rate last year of 23.8% and 50.3% ground ball. Home run did hurt him with 1.89 per nine innings.
