Carlos Carrasco the starter for the Mets. He started 12 games a season ago due to injury. A poor 6.04 ERA with 1.43 WHIP. He did string together good seasons while in Cleveland. Last year saw a dramatic dip in his strikeout rate at 21.1% and 2.01 home runs allowed per 9 innings. But he is pitching to a Diamondbacks team that is batting .137. He faced the Nationals in his season opener allowing one runs with two hits over 5 2/3rd innings.

Braves at Padres—Ian Anderson to start for Atlanta. The righthander came off a strong rookie season starting 24 games with an ERA of 3.58 and WHIP 1.23. He allowed 49.3% ground balls along with 23.2% strikeout rate and needs to drop his walk rate which finished at 9.9% Anderson faced Cincinnati at home to begin the season allowing five earned runs with five walks over 2 2/3rd innings. Nick Martinez throws for San Diego.
Martinez left the Majors in 2017 due to ineffectiveness for Japan. He showed enough improvement to land a four year contract. He faced the Giants to open the season allowing one earned run over five innings. Braves evened this series at 1-1 with their 5-2 victory on Friday. St Louis Cardinals vs. Milwaukee Brewers MLB Pick Prediction 4/16/2022

Cubs at Rockies—Mark Leiter to start for the Cubs. The 31 year old in parts of two seasons at the Big Leagues has a career ERA of 5.53 and WHIP 1.47. He pitched to high contact in the Majors and was crushed by the home run ball. He opened the year in the Minors allowing one earned run in four innings against Buffalo. Antonio Senzatela to throw for Colorado. The veteran has put up respectable numbers the past two season with the Rockies by limiting walks and giving up over 50% ground ball rate.

Was an effective pitching up until the surgery. In his first start of 2022 the righthander faced the Angels and allowed one earned run in five innings with three hits.
Chris Flexen the starter for the Mariners. Return to MLB after a stint in Japan was success as Flexen with the Mariners in 2021 posted an ERA of 3.61 and WHIP 1.25 in 31 starts. He did pitch to high contact but bettered his control. He limited home runs. The righthander opened his season at Minnesota giving up three runs with eight baserunners in 4 1/3rd innings.
Both offenses struggling and getting good work from their pen. Flexen’s numbers in Seattle were much better at home. Play Houston and Seattle under 7.5.

In his MLB debut six days ago Green allowed three earned runs with two homers in five innings at Atlanta.
Julio Urias to start for LAD. The lefty had a 20 win season in 2021 starting 32 games. His strikeout rate jumped to 26.2% last year as did his ground ball rate with walks dropping. Urias opened the season at Colorado allowing three earned runs in two innings and was hurt by shoddy defense.
