He had an ERA of 3.18 in the spring with good strikeout numbers but issues with walks. Eduardo Rodriguez to start for Detroit. He came over from the Red Sox where he had an ERA of 4.74 and WHIP 1.39 a season ago.
Righthanders hit .282 on Rodriguez last season. Tigers are banged up in the bullpen and that is an area you always have to worry about Detroit. White Sox line up seven righthanders and two switch hitters here. Prefer the White Sox lineup. Play Chicago -130.

Athletics at Phillies—Frankie Montas to start for Oakland. The righthander put up good numbers in 2021 with an ERA of 3.37 and WHIP of 1.11 in 187 innings. Aaron Nola to throw for Detroit. He posted an ERA of 4.63 last season with a bad September.
Nola has been hurt by the home run ball the past few seasons. Righthanders got to the veteran righthander and the Athletics have seven hitting from that side in this spot. Phillies bullpen is a concern as well as Oakland’s. Play Oakland +160.

Brewers at Cubs—Brandon Woodruff to start for Milwaukee. The righthander put up strong numbers last season with an ERA of 2.56 and WHIP 0.96. Woodruff has a WHIP under one on the road and at home. Justin Steele starts for the Cubs. He dominated left handed hitting last year as teams hit .098 on him last year.
Brewers have five lefthanded hitters in their lineup. Woodruff had struggles in the spring and the Milwaukee lineup had struggles last season. Play Chicago +145.

Dodgers at Rockies—Walker Buehler to start for LAD. The righthander put up good numbers in 2021 with an ERA of 2.47 and WHIP of 0.97. In the spring he did give up four homers in 9 2/3rd innings. There has been a big drop off in his ERA on the road the past three seasons.

Orioles at Rays—John Means to start for Baltimore. The lefthander put up respectable numbers but doesn’t go deep into games which exposes an Orioles bullpen which has been bad the past few seasons. He faced the Rays five times last season giving up 19 runs 16 earned in 26 2/3rd innings. Shane McClanahan to start for the Rays.
