Edmonton Oilers vs Colorado Avalanche 3/21/2022 Picks Predictions Previews
Edmonton at Colorado, 9:30 PM ET, SN1, SN (JIP), ALT
First Take: The Colorado Avalanche are one of two teams on incredible rolls when its coming to high-scoring third periods. The last time I checked, the Avs were 17-3-1 (a week ago)towards the Over in the third, so that is almost an automatic play, especially against an offense-laded club like the Edmonton Oilers.
Oilers: The Canadian media is again demanding that star Edmonton forward Connor McDavis be named the Hart Trophy winner as league most valuable player. Again, they will fail because the Oilers will fail un even coming close to capturing the Pacific Division over provincial rival Calgary Flames.
There are separate awards for goal-scoring, but McDavis for the moments is just the best player on a club that is barely at “A” level (more like a )B-plus” side).
It’s similar to the hype Eric Lindors received when skating for the Philadelphia Flyers. He might be No. 2 or No. 3 in the league, but there are others more deserving. (I expect your letters, calls and emails to come shortly — I will be amused).
It has taken Edmonton management more than three months to finally figure out that the near-40-year-old Mike Smith is not the answer in goal for a length Stanley Cup run. Finally, Mikko Koskinen is the main man in net, and with solid results: he’s won four straight including over Tampa Bay and Washington.
Since the win over the Capitals, Edmonton has won five straight, but many were against low-end programs in DET, BUF and NJD. At least, they’re rested.

Edmonton Oilers vs Colorado Avalanche Predictions 3/21/2022
Avalanche: Colorado never makes deep playoff runs for a reason, they are built to be a solid regular-season squad, but are not able to play a tight, physical game that comes playoff time.
Like Edmonton, Colorado’s 4-game win streak have come againsy “soft serve” squads, two more teams to lick coming up in VAN and PHL.
This is the perfect spot for the Avs to let the Oilers know who is boss. Thus, if Edmonton doesn’t start quickly (on the road), it could be a long night.
Prediction: Although the Over seems obvious, when a par of offensive teams meet, it never seems to go over an already inflated total. We will take a small play on the team with the hotter goaltender… OILERS.
