The number 20 ranked Illinois Fighting Illini will host a Big Ten action against the number 24 ranked Iowa Hawkeyes on Sunday, March 6 at 7:30 pm ET at the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln.

The Illinois Fighting Illini defeated the Penn State Nittany Lions in a close match at 55-60 last Thursday.  Illinois had a slow start and was 1-point behind at the half but rallied with 31 points in the second half to secure the win. 


Da’Monte Williams led in scoring with 14 points.  Kofi Cockburn had 11 points and 6 rebounds.  Trent Frazier added 10 points and handed 4 assists.  The Fighting Illini were 36% in shooting, 5% behind Penn State. 


Illinois made 9 of 28 three-points and was 15 of 17 in free throws.  They were outrebounded by Penn State, 34-29 but forced the Nittany Lions to turnover the ball 12 times.  


This season, Illinois posted an average of 76.3 ppg which is 59th, 38.6 rebounds per game is tied for 56th, and 15.4 assists per game is 50th in NCAA Men’s Basketball.
